question about tubes
hello all. My Blue Voodoo has in it 4 tubes (power amp) that say "GT-6l6B" on them, made by Groove Tubes. According to the Crate web site, it uses 4 6l6GT tubes. This all being said, what are my options in replacing the tubes, in these situations.
A) if i were to simply pull out the current tubes and stick on new ones, what are my options?
B) if i were to have it done professionally, now what are my options?
To clarify, in case my question is too convoluted, im asking what kind of tubes i could buy that would work in my amp
For example, would these work?

Yes those would work, but I suggets buying a matched quad, Doug sells them for cheap. http://www.dougstubes.com
If it has a fixed bias you can just throw the tubes in and play, if the biad is adjustable you will need a biad probe like the ones Weber sells http://www.webervst.com/bias.html
I say either way for JerryP to reply to this, or send him an e-mail. I know he's worked with Blue Voodoo's before and can tell you if it has a fixed bias or not.

If you positive that it has a fixed bias or auto bias then yes you can just pull the old tubes out and put the new ones in (with the amp off of course)
I suggest JJ's.. the Blue Voodoo can become buzzy with the wrong tubes, JJ's tend to tame the overall buzziness of the amp and make the lows more pronounced.
Still, an e-mail to Jerry is a great idea.
