switching chords

I'm haveing a hard time learning to switch basic chords I found learning pinch harmonics to be easier than this. I want to know a good way to build switching speed. This is really hindering me.

play 1 chord for 4 beats. rest for one beat, then play the other chord for 4 beats, then rest for one beat and repeat. practice that, and eventually take out the rest.

find out if the chords have any notes that are the same and in the same place if so then dont lift those fingers up keep them where the are and move your other fingers where they need to be.
i have seen people lift their entire hand to move to another chord when all they needed to do was move one finger

yes fingure placement is key. and knowing your next chords fingure placement is good, so you can make a smooth transition.

Oh yeah, and do this with a metronome. Keep on speeding it up with the rest still in there. Then slow it down, and try it without the rest.

Yeah i'm finally working that out. I havn't really been taking chords seriously except for the past few weeks i've been learning pinch harmonics sweeps and other stuff I forgot about one of the most important techniques. And as far as a metronome is concerned 40 bpm slow I know 2 rest.
