Guitar Pick?
Well this thread may sound stupid in a way because I know this is a type of question where you are supposed to say it's your choice, pick what you wan't but I need help here on quality of a guitar. This summer I wan't to start saving more money for a new guitar and amp. Right now I am trying to decide whether I should get a schecter (sp), Jackson, or Gibson guitar and maybe even a LTD. I wan't something with good quality and just for plain out good sounding metal guitar. Maybe EMG's or something around there. I kind of like the sound of Dark Tranquility's older sound or maybe something like Prayer For Cleansing or Undying.
What would you guy's choose between the ones I put up. To me the LTD is kinda on the cheaper side. Oh and I plan to spend no more than 700 bucks.... MAYBE 750 and that's all I can afford for now.
Now on the amp I am not sure what to get yet. I wan't a half stack but don't have anything like 3,000 bucks for one. The most I can spend on a amp is around 1,000-1,500 the MOST. Any idea's on that one? I have played a bit like Peavys, Crate, Marshall, etc but not sure, there are so many choices and very little amps for the price range I wan't in a half stack that sound half way decent. Anything I get will sound better than my early 1980's to late 70's Multivox amp haha.
Thanks for any info,
Shawn-

If your lookin at ESP Guitars (Or LTDs for that matter) i recomend the new anniversary models. Its the 700 range when you get it offline and it comes with 2 emg's, (both 81's) Aswell the body is mahogany and its an ebony fretboard i believe. I may be wrong with the board though. Jumbo frets and 24 fret neck.

guitar, a nice shechter is in your price range. and for an amp,
I would suggest tying a Crate GT3500H head. It's what I use and I'm pretty happy with it. $599 for the head + how ever much you want to spend on a cab. Theres other choices too, like a peavey XXX, which is awesome aswell. or a 5150/6505.

what CC said, get a quality Schecter (comes stock with Seymour Duncans) and a used XXX, 5150, Blue Voodoo.. ect. With a Peavey MS412 cabinet.
And now search http://metaltabs.com/forum/search.php?

If you like round necks and good playability(actualy great playability) then Schecter is a good choice. My best friend has got a schecter and it was well worth what a payed(around $600). Gibsons also have that round kind of neck, i havent played to many Gibsons though so i cant recomend them on their playability.
For a good think necked guitar that plays fast i would recomend Ibanez. I love my RG, it plays great and looks nice too.
For me when i choose a guitar I regard the neck as one of the most Important things. I personaly need a fast thin neck.
