Need help with Zoom MRT3 Drum Machine

(I know most of you play actual drum sets, but this question probably fits best in this forum.)
I just got my Zoom MRT3 Drum Machine in the mail today. It's really good, but I don't understand some of the instructions. In Real-Time Recording, I can record -- for a certain amount of time -- more than one note (whereas the "Step-Recording" method has me to record each note at a time in steps). But I can't seem to get the damn metronome off of it. It always has it on there, which screws me up. Is there any way (besides step-recording) that I can record without the metronome and make for my own timing; just recording whatever I play into the drum machine memory?

I dont think so.
Never tried it, but I think you always have to use the Steprecording.
But after a while you`ll get into it.
I use it only for pracising...
