Decent Effects Processor
Rackmount, Floorboard, I dont care, just give me an effects processor with at least above average of the following:
- Reverb
- Delay (i happen to have a weakness for long delay...go on musiciansfriend.com, look up the DD6, and play the first clip, that's my "ideal" delay")
- Compression
- Noise Gate? (not necessary, i wouldnt mind investing in a NS-2 or Noise Decimator or Hush)
Anything else would be nice, but that's all i'm really looking for in one unit. If it has decent overdrive for boosting, that'd be cool to, but i dont mind dropping $30 on a bad monkey >_>

Just my luck, TC Electronics just released some info on what looks to be EXACTLY what I want. The G-System.
Now I just need a pricetag...

As I've told everyone who's asked about effects processor's, the DigiTech RP200 is what I use and it's all you need. Plenty of effects and shit. But it may run a little higher than you'd want, although I imagine the price has gone down since I got mine. The RP100 (which is cheaper) is basically the same, but it doesn't have an expression pedal. Then there's an RP50 but from what I remember it kinda sucks. Most things by Boss and Zoom are great, too. But, as a loyal user, I must recomend the RP200.

Theres a lot of them out there, but my favs are these three. These ones can also be found rather cheap too.

The Digitech RP200 is awful imo, the construction of the unit is pretty poor, the effects aren't great, it feeds back far too much, the in built tuner is too slow and un-responsive, and the menu/parameter system is pathetic- they spent too much time coming up with stupid names for all the patches.
Yea, i don't like it :P

the intellifex has less fx, but the ones it does have are better imo, i.e. 8 voice chorus that is to die for, compared to the xpression's 2 voice chorus that is only "good"(about on the same level as a boss stomp)...

I believe that effects engine is for PAs and vocals though.

I'm not sure if it would be weaker per se, but it may be stronger than you want it to be since it isnt made for guitar maybe?
