Dave Mustaine's "Gigantour"
Set to launch in late July, Gigantour is a six-week festival trek co-headlined by MEGADETH and DREAM THEATER, who'll be accompanied by other main-stage acts FEAR FACTORY, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and NEVERMORE. Artists for the second stage will be announced in the coming weeks.
http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/bl...ewsitemID=35062
Props to Dave for setting this up!

Nice, but where's the death metal? Second stage?
Does Megadeth have a new second guitarist?

Well until Chris gets tired of his Jazz Fusion or Marty decides to become and American again then dont blame Dave.
David's just a cunt, and I dont know whats up with Nick Menza.. he probably getting anal probed by some aliens.

Heh, already a thread. I didn't even look, stupid me. Anyway, I am fucking pissed Nevermore has the back seat. Fucking cunts. And Megadeth sucked live last time I saw them, I don't want to pay elevated ticket prices because Megadeth is there.

I saw Megadeth a couple of weeksago, on the last show of the Blackmail the universe tour. They were fucking awesome. The current line up could, in no way, be considered weak.
I wish I could go to this tour.
Dave!! Remember how awesome the crouds were in Aus!!!!

YES, I will be able to see Megadeth! They better play Rattlehead. I don't really want to see Fear Factory though.

Fat chance of that. They rarely play anything off the first album and generally only Wake Up Dead or Peace Sells off the second. This is why they pretty much suck for the last 16 years.

When I saw them they played lots of songs from that era. Devils Island, Mechanix as well as another one that I forgot. (though it was aparently a special one just for us aussies)
Though they did play for just under 2 hours.

You lucky dog! I think they should ALWAYS play Mechanix just to rub it in Metallica's face.
I first saw them on the Peace Sells tour and they played everything off the first two albums minus the cover songs plus they played an early version of Mary Jane. That might well have been the greatest small club concert ever. I've seen them twice since then and both times they totally neglected Killing... and just played the video hits off of Peace Sells.

It was really strane (but interesting) during the middle of songs, they changed to other songs. So for instance, they started playing peace sells, then at one of the 'breaks' in the song they swapped to playing Paranoid (Black Sabbath) then went back after than and finished Peace Sells. Their last song was a mish mash of Holy Wars, Train of Concequence and Mechanix.

Irvine's been on sale for a week now. It might be worth it to buy San Diego tickets and make the drive if you can't get good seats at the Meadows. Turns out the pre-sale is some promo gay shit and regular tickets are on sale today at 10AM.

Wow, I read this after I bought the tickets.....oh well, I can't complaint much, San Diego's a bit too far away for me . I got seats at Irvine for somewhere in like the middle row.
EDIT: Haha the first thing I'd tell him is, "That was pretty funny when you cried on 'Some kind of Monster' ".

that is a sweet set list but on gigantours website (last time i looked) it only had 'deth playin 45 minutes which is a super lame set time for them. Dream Theater (theatre?) also had 45 minutes which is good or bad depending on what u think of them. Either way theres no way there megadeth is gonna get that good of a setlist in 45 minutes.

I hope DT doesn't play too many new songs.. they blow.
45 minutes.. that means no Change of Seasons encore

We'll just wait and see I guess.. . I see them early into the Tour, so hopefully they don't feel too pooped out. Oh, and I guess he could use whatever the hell he wants, but why does Drover use an LTD?

The show's coming to my town on Aug. 6. I already got my ticket, I bought it the day after they went on sale, and they had already sold like three rows or more, I don't quite remember, I think it might have even been over five rows in one day.
I read somewhere, either on Megadeth's web site or on gigantour.com that both Megadeth and DT are gonna have 90 min. sets, respectively. It'd better not be no fucking 45 minute bullshit.
As for nevermore, I checked them out, and hated them. I don't understand why Dave even has them on this tour, but that's just me, I'm sure Dave has his reasons. As for the guy who said that nevermore is better than Megadeth live, I wonder what you're on my friend, but I think you need a reality check. I've never seen either band live, but I have seen plenty of live footage of Megadeth, and my best friend has seen them live several times, and each time they simply ruled, as I'm sure they will on August 6th.

Just some shit came up in the last minute, and I can't get out of it so that's why I'll be missing it. It pisses me off even more when I hear Dave say that this may be the last tour he's doing.

Second stages are almost always just a stage set up in the parking lot.

I almost ended up having to sell my ticket, but thanks to my stubborness and uncompromising ballsines, (big pat on back), I'm still going.
My cousin in Ohio is getting married on the exact same day of the show. My parents are going, as well as my brother. They all insisted on me going, and then when they saw that I don't want to, my parents used the old reliable nagging technique, because they know that I can't stand nagging, and will usually let them have their way just so they will shut the fuck up.
Not this time. I persevered, and am officially going to se Megadeth. I'm fucking psyched about it, too, I think it's gonna be a killer fucking show. I bought a seat ticket, but hopefully I'll be able to go down into the crowd and mosh with the less worthy when Megadeth hits the stage.

I was going to go to this on Aug 17 just to see Fear Factory, Dry Kill Logic & Dillenger but i just cant give up any money to Megadeth or Dream Theater. That would just bother me too much & make me feel like less of a man lol!

The show was badass. The second stage sucked except Symphony X's guitarist was OK. I don't know there set list but they played for about 30 minutes+. I met Megadeth and asked Dave if they'll go back in the studio anytime soon. He said they might... but it's still up in the air. I think they will.
