50 watt Gigging. Is it enough?
I'm looking for a new amp and my eyes are set on the Marshall AVT50H a 50 watt Stack.
The problem is I'm not sure if 50 watts is enough power, to gig at say a large hall.
Any Suggestions?  |

depens on how loud your drummer is, how big the venue is, if it's a tube amp yes or no.
a 50w. tube amp can get pretty loud, a 50w SS amp sounds less louder in comparisson, a 100w solid state would probably be loud enough for school gigs and shit. but for playing in a big hall, I wouldn't settle for less then 100 tube watts.

The only amp i can find in the price range of $1000-$1700 is this 50 watt marshall.
got any suggestions on amp brands or models in that range.
I'd rather a stack as well. much cooler  |

i'm sure you could get a much better amp in the us or canada for that money, in the uk thats understandable, what sound are you looking for?

firstly i'm australian
secondly i'm looking for a broad sound so that i can do hard metal distortion as well as some soft shit. as i said it has to be powerfull enough to gig with. I don't mind if it has built in effects or not, if it doesn't i can buy a boss pedal or something.

On a normal day, I'd move this like the nice mod I am, but it's not that normal of a day. First of all, you make two threads of the exact same thing. Second...you put both of them in the wrong forum shithead.
