Jackson RR3
Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting a Jackson RR3 cos they're just so cool, but I wanted to ask if any of you guys own/play one - I'd heard someone say they hang kinda awkward from the strap and they're not so easy to play if you've got small hands (like me!)
Also, how easy is it to change the pickups in these badboys (I'm thinking of sticking in a couple of EMGS -would they fit?)
Finally, its kind of a lame question, but does anyone know anywhere you can get a stand it would fit in - cos of that big spike out the back I don't think it will fit in a normal stand!
Thanks

anyways, there are stands for them, just check out your local music store.
theres no reason emgs wouldnt fit.. just the question is, do you really want them?

yea, of course they would fit, theyre humbucker shaped so they should fit in any humbucker guitar...
its a v shaped guitar, so it would be a bitch to sit down and play with
well...depending on how u sit and use it, im sure it would be ok if u use the proper way of sitting and playing
but usually rr guitars are decent and have good playability

I have an RR. You should get a Hercules stand. They are great for odd shaped guitars.

I wouldn't even get a cheap model RR's. They have the same specs as all the other guitars in the same price ranges like the WRXT Warrior, or the dinky, etc. The only thing that's diff. is the shape.

Its a great guitar but if you want EMG's it will be a tight fit(if its at all possible) to put the batteries in under the pickgaurd you might just need to get it routed, i havent gotten roung to putting EMGs in mine yet.
It sits well but it tends to fall horizontal, if you picking arm is on the body it wont fall though. You will definatly need strap-locks as it will fall off the neck button otherwise
You can get a wall hanger and put it on there if that makes it any easier.

Ive got the KVX10 and I find it easier to play sitting , because its so damn neck-heavy when I'm standing I have to be constantly supporting the neck with my picking hand
Other than that though, a mighty fine guitar

u probaly did sumtin wrong
i have to admit, there were some things wrong with my warrior xt but it was still sounding and playingfine, my neck wasnt set completely right so the high e had less space then the low e, so the high E kept going of the fingerboard while playing
does that makes sence??
but still jacksons rule

I am the greatest shredder that's ever touched the planet, I surpass the skill of anyone that's ever played a guitar. I should just slap the fuck outta you for saying that . No, my Warrior XT is obviously a cheap guitar so I can't expect too much out of it, but then you did say "You can't go wrong with Jacksons .

I have an RR4 (black) with EMG's (81 in the bridge, 85 in the neck) and I love it.
The EMG swap was easy, plenty of room for a battery (wrapped in foam, no less) so don't sweat that.
They do hang awkwardly from the strap (they hang out in front of/away from your body more so than other guitars) In fact, this bothered me so much that I added another strap lock to the guitar in a different position (on the body, right behind the neck, where it joins the body) and it has made a huge difference.

I've been looking at the Jackson Stars RR's for some time now and I was thinking of getting it and swapping the pickups on it. The bad thing is that the site where they show those, they don't have them anymore, like it's been discontinued or they sold out or what?

I have one 9 volt in the cavity on the back of the guitar (where the pickup wiring is.)
