Which other amps have a similar clean channel tone to the JCM800, preferably one that is more readily available than it?  |

I heard Laneys have similar tone to the Marshalls, haven't tried one though.

It seems as if they did - the MIG50/60/100... just tried looking on ebay for one, but to no avail, i'll have to keep my eyes out, because they are pretty good value according to the reviews, cheers for that! |

the sovtek migs are sweet... loud as fuck, and a really nice tone to them.
but they are jcm 800 clones so just like the jcm 800's.. they need to be turned up to sound good. and they also need a boost to get into high gain territory.
the mig 60 is my fav... it's basically a master volume version of the mig 50.

yea, im gonna be using it clean though, cause i'm trying to get as close as i can to the opeth tone, hence the Laney amp, and the JCM800 clean tone :P still can't find any Migs around though :'(

There was a JCM 800 going on ebay for a "buy it now" price of £375! 
Somebody's already bought it though. Yeah if Sovtek's are made in Russia, then you could probably get them a lot cheaper there. Damn, if only I played guitar when I lived in Russia! |

roland jc's sound so fucking nice, the chorus sounds good to. Anyways dude i doubt u ll find any sovteks in england, i ve been looking for ages and have never found one the laney vh100 is a good amp, the distortion aint as good as the gh100ti but it still kicks ass. Anyways why u looknig for a jcm800 type clean tone, i aint really a fan of jcm800's, i prefer the 900's and the dsl and tsl
