Epiphone Zakk Wylde Camo Les Paul
Anyone played the Epiphone Zakk Wylde Camo Custom? I think it was released in February along with the Buzzsaw.
Anyway, what I'd like to know is the neck one-piece maple, and are those inlays real MOP? What about the size of the neck - is it the 1960 Slim Taper, or the fatter necks more commonly found?
EMG-HZ's are shit yes, but what about the rest of Epi ZW guitars, quality and parts wise?
If anyone has any recommendations of a maple neck/fretboard' Les Paul, post
'em here.
Edit: Here's a link by the way:

eh, I played the bulleye epi les paul, it was shit.
But... with epiphone it seems to be kinda 'hit or miss' I've played a few epi les paul and they all sounded crappy compared to a gibson les paul, the gibson is way more heavy and has tons of sustain and tone, the epi's didn't have that, none of the ones I played but maybe I was unlucky.
if you're into BLS, they're cool gimmicks but if you want something real, save up for the real deal, they're gonna be collectors items someday (you'll be dead by that day but anyways, its still a cool idea)

Cheers Def, I'm into BLS, but that's not the reason I'm interested. The reason is purely because of the maple neck/fretboard, which I absolutely love on any guitar. (and I'm the market for a Les Paul)
I hear for the Bullseye they released all the factory "firsts" in Japan, and they were basically flawless, and released all the "seconds" plus all the rest into Europe and America, hence the lack of standards in quality.
You're right though, it's hit or miss. Problem is they're relatively new, only released in February, so the shops haven't got 'em. Guess I'll have to wait a couple of months.

well, get out there and try the fuckers when they're out. be sure to compare them to a gibson les paul to so you can hear the difference too, if it comes close to the original, you know you probably got a good one in your hands.
as for the inlays on the epi's, they look just as good as on a les paul standard if you ask me. (hit or miss too, I've seen inlays with glue marks and shit too on epi's)

Well I would think that it would sound crappy compared to the Gibson. The Epi isn't that bad, but it doesn't even compare to the Gibson one.

Seems to be the case as far as I have seen too.....My Epi LP is very nice.....but my friends 72 Gibson LP is twice as rich as far as that PUNCH.
But mine was less than 400 and his is around 1300.

I've played a few ZW EPI's the bullseye, and they seem to be good quality, however they may not be so nice if you get one from a box shifter, an good shop that will check them should be able to get you a decent one or one that does not sell Gibson second's.

Gibson Voodoo= Shite
One of the worst products Gibson has ever put on the market. Tons of defects and such. Not a great guitar anyway. I'd recommend the LP Special or Studio

Why, what's wrong with it? And it has like 496R and 500T pickups while the custom has 490R and 498T. What's the difference in those, like are the ones that the custom has "hotter"?

I've heard also that the Voodoo siries is shit, never tried it myself thoug. And they also look shit ugly imo.
I want one of those Epiphone Bullseye Zakk Wylde Les Paul's, they look nice and I want a les paul, I'd never buy a gibson zakk wylde les paul because they're so damn expensive. I probably ain't gonna get one of the epiphones either thoug, but I wouldn't mind having one. Maybe sometime in the future...

that epi looks a bit cheap and there aint no way in the world that someone like u or me, is ever gonna get enough money to buy a gibson zw sig guitar. Tis Mega bucks.
Talking about gibson lp's, i was at a mate of mines place last night (hes a guitar teacher) and he's got so many gibson lps. He's got a gibson standard signed by jimmy page, a 1968 custom lp (i forget age, but its worth £14000) a melody maker, 3 studio lps,a black beauty, 1992 special eddtion lp lite and a standard sg. The best is the lp lite, the neck is so fucking nice, feels thinner and flatter than the usual 1960 slim taper .

Right now it's around £735, but that's 'cause it was relased in February. By the time they have in the shops, it should around the price of the bullseye, which is about £430

not so bad
i just picked up a ep les paul standard, after some emg's and a setup it played just like an origional. I was getting it to fuck around with at home but ended up using it at our last two gigs because i just fell in love with it.

The Tiger eye and Cherry red finishes look really nice. And as always with me, the ebony fretboard with bound neck and head stock along with the pearl inlays, ooohh . I just don't like that part with the pick up selector, it pops up too much unlike a LP which is more even.

I think they've stopped producing 'em, but they go for 500-700 bucks on ebay.
Ah fuck, a quick search on ebay yields no results, but I'm sure some shops online have some leftover stock, I found some in the UK.
