Josh Homme guitar tone...

anyone know how i can get josh homme's guitar tone on a budget?
at the mo i got an ibanez rg playing through a line6 spiderII, somehow i think this is a bit too ''metal'' for the sound i want. i need something less sharp on the ears...more warm and bassy and mellow, ie. josh homme.

anyone?
cheers

He uses a Marshall Head with a Bass cabinent with a Oviation guitar (forgot the model). I got my Kyuss tone the kinda "degrading way", as in putting the bass and gain all the way up, mids wayy down, and treble to half. It sounds nasty, but thats how I got a tone resembling it.

No its not too metal. Bass at 8, Mids at 2 or 3, treble at 7. Gain all the way up, and play it through the neck p/u, or if you have a tone knob on your axe, turn it down a little (less treble). That should help.
