Expert advice desperatley needed for beginner....

ok...here goes, this is really doing my head in...
i play an ibanez RG, with a Boss GT-6 through a Line 6 Spider II guitar amp (30W combo).
now, i know what guitar tone i want for the overdriven/distorted tone. i just want the exact tone produced from playing without the gt-6, through the insane channel of the spiderII, with bass and treble full and mids cut to about 6o'clock. with me?

thing is, i want to play with the gt-6 for all the effects. the trouble is i cant get the distortion/overdrive tone that i want through the gt-6. all the distortions sound very thin and ''sharp'', very metal. i want a more bassy, warm tone ie. kyuss, qotsa, medication. i cant just the insane channel on the amp because i need to use the clean channel for the clean effects, yeah? im really stumped cus i cant get that real heavy tone. ive tried everything.

can someone whos a genius at these things help me out?
cheers guys...

Get an amp with an FX loop. Then head on over to this site:
www.bossgtcentral.com/ and read up on the "4 cable method". Itll give you a better tone, and should allow you to do what you want to do. If you cant figure it out and dont have the option to get a better amp, check in their forums, theyre experts about the gt6.

NO NO NO NO NO NO!!

NEVER completely cut your mids out (unless your playing pantera through a randall). That smooth, warm tone your talking about can only be acheived by ADDING mids dude.

But of course, this is my opinion. Ears are different.
