Post Rock is my personal favorite genre, with Doom Metal a close second. Metal in general is 3rd. Metal is not everything to me. I mean, I'm listening to "California Love" by 2pac right now.

I know I shouldn't answer this question, but classical and techno. I also play/write both classical and techno music. And I'm sometimes up for hippie shit.
...No, no, I'm sorry, I take it back!
But yeah, there ya go.
EDIT: whoops, forgot punk. Underground street/hardcore or the really old shit. I used to play nothing but punk. But metal is for sure my main.

What the fuck is wrong with listening to stuff other than metal? I hate people who act like metal is the only genre out there. So go right ahead! Listen to Black Flag!
Speaking of which, I need to get some Dead Kennedys.

I don't think there is a rule that certain genre's are out of the question for a metalhead, but it is usually quite odd to find a guy who listens to Slayer and Britney Spears in the same day. I personally can't stand rap/hiphop, pop, melodic rock bands (the really pretty teeny-bopping bullshit that think they're heavy or punk), and usually I'm not up for country either (although I can tolerate Johnny Cash). It doesn't have much to do with metal, but it's just a normal thing for a metal fan to dislike some of that other shit. If the world was nothing but metalheads, it would suck. I don't know why....but I'm sure it would suck.

Ok, there is a difference between being open minded, and being a moron (slayer and BS in the same day. ). If its not what you like, then ok. But what I meant is (didn't say it right. hehe) that I don't like people who worship metal, and say everything else that isn't metal sucks.

Yeah, I agree. But I don't think there are too many of those people left. I think they all started to die off around the time Jethro Tull won the award for best metal performance. "You are not a just god, metal god!" There were people jumping off bridges and shit. Yeah, the only one's that survived are too fucked up to tell the story. But as legend has it, Kerry King converted to pop music for, like, five days! But he came back around. Still, the scar remains on every metal soul to this very day.
...Anywho. Stupid fuckers like that can worship metal if they like, but sooner or later they're going to have to realize that before Black Sabbath, The Kinks indeed rocked the house!

In order from greatest to least, my favorite music after metal is-
1. Classic rock
2. Hip-hop (almost entirely old-school)
3. Grunge rock
I can't stand punk, not sure why. By the way, it's 'scene', not sean. My cousin is Sean.

Classic Rock. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan and The Doors fucking own!
I also like some rap/hip hop but almost the only ones I like in that buissness are Eminem, Dr. Dre, 2pac and XXX Rottweiler (an icelandic rap band that has split up now).
I do like some pop, mostly icelandic pop thoug. And this one band called The Killers.
For techno I like Prodigy, but they're the only good techno band I've ever heard imo.
I don't know what category he falls under but Bob Marley is awsome! (reaggee?)
Irish Drinking music is pure genious, The Dubliners are my favourite in that area

Punk, without a doubt for me. Black Flag is one of my fav bands, but old Danzig-era Misfits takes the cake for me.

Joking aside, 80s pop music is exponentially better than the 90s and post-millennial shite we are expected to listen to in pubs.

He stopped loving you the minute you sprouted curlies from your crotch.
This question might be out of left field, but do you also like any of Prince's work? I don't like Prince myself, but I remember joining in on a couple of arguments over who is more musically talented between Prince and Michael Jackson. I think that one's pretty obvious.

Prince is obviously more talented musically (since he's a multi-instrumentalist)
but I could never enjoy any of his songs. Jackson just had that get-up-and-go vibe to his songs that appealed to me.

Fuck yeah! DK, Black Flag, and Fear are some of the reasons I even started a metal overload. It used to be strictly metal, but classical and just old blues/rock like Nugent and Buchanan are genius. Punk is still my second though.

I picked Grunge, but besides metal and that, probably older hardcore (Judge, Floorpunch), and uh...on the occassion some trance (progressive trancecore, no, its not a form of hardcore in that genre, a different form of it. Basically just fast trance). Used to be addicted to that kind of stuff.

Yeah, old school hardcore is the best. DRI, Judge, DK, Trial, Slapshot, Sick of it All, etc and some newer stuff like Letxdown and Shell Shock.

I pick classic rock. Rush is and will always be one of my favorite bands. I'm also fond of grunge considering I was raised on it as well as Metallica and Slayer.
I can't stand any other punk other than The Ramones, The Misfits, and Tiger Army. Rap today is a joke but very little of the "old School" stuff is standable. I like "California Love" because it's so damn catchy. Plus I like Snoop Dogg, not so much his music but the guy himself.

Snoop rules. One of my friends got me a Snoop Dogg action figure for my birthday a while back which has provided endless entertainment for us at parties: http://www.rockstarcorp.com/snoop_dogg_figures.htm
My Snoop action figure is currently visiting my friend Steve on the East Coast and is slated to go to Italy for two years in May...

The Jam - what's that, like mod music or something?
Quite a few punk bands, but all Russian - I can't stand the majority of English/American punk-bands.
Classic rock - like Led Zepp, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer
Jazz and Jazz/Rock fusion - I'm getting into it, The Mahavishnu Orchestra (John Mclaughlin's band) is pretty damn good.
Flamenco and Spanish guitar! - AHH! This is amazing, I got hold of some of Paco de Lucia work, and some of concerts he did with Mclaughlin and Di Meola - amazing.

80's Punk (Black Flag, Dead Kennedy's, Tsol etc)
Hip Hop (Dizzee Rascal, Missy Elliot)
Art (Help She Can't Swim etc)
Hardcore (Refused, Amen (hardcore punk), Sick of it all, Minor Threat)
Aphex Twin and Nicky Blackmarket (drum n bass) inspire me more then metal but metal does win all.

I've never been into any genre other than metal. I like some bands/groups from other genres Prodigy, old Chili peppers, Jurassic 5, Sick of it all etc., but I wouldn't say I was a fan of any of their respective genres.
I don't enjoy classical music at all, it does nothing for me.
