Daniel Mongrain is insane...
I just saw Cryptopsy last night and it was an amazing show. They played the whole None So Vile album than a drum solo "Open Face Surgey", "Cold Hate, Warm Blood", "We Bleed", and "White Worms". I was a tad disappointed during the show as Dan Mongrain didnt take any solos. Than they got to We Bleed and Cold Hate, Warm Blood, I was standing there is disbelief. It seriously was exactly how it was played on the album. The solos played by the other guy were kind of sloppy and and not up to par on John's solos but christ, I've never seen anyone play something so cleanly as thoes two solos. His tone was just perfect also. Which impressed me since he was using a Rocktron Chemeleon, Rocktron Velocity 250 and something else through a Mesa Boogie Cab.

I got to see them a few months ack, Im not sure who it was playing guitar, ill find out n a few minutes and edit this, but the lead guitarist was fucking kiler, I mean, my god he was good, I got to stand 2 feet infront of him when he played, I have pics to show how cose i was.... he was fucking awesome....

haha. some how i always end up wearing this one particular guiness t-shirt every time i'm at saratoga winner's. i might be wearing an ak47.net t-shirt though. it's due up for rotation! lol. maybe we'll run into each other. i wouldn't be surprised if we recognized each other from other shows. i always see the same people whether i'm in nyc, albany, or wherever.

There's a 1hr show of him with is main band "Martyr" on the Bande à Part.FM (Radio-Canada) website.
Here's how to reach the show (the interface is in French)
- Go at http://bandeapart.fm/index2.asp
- Click on Concerts in the left menu
- Click on Hard in the top menu
- You'll see the list of shows availables on your left.. Martyr and Cryptopsy are nice shows! Click on one of them
- Finally, click Audio et vidéo (haute vitesse format moyen) at the bottom.
