Most pristine headphone amplifier sound?
I'm leaving for the Airforce soon, and I'll be spending the first six months in a free on-base apartment. So I'll be doing a lot of headphone practicing.
What I've been doing lately is simply having the band's ( i.e. laptop ) sound delivered over high quality, large headphones, the digital sorts that cover your entire ear, and a pair of ear buds ( small, painful things ) inside of them, to give me my guitar sound ( any of you who have practiced for more than an hour with ear buds inside of larger headphones know how much they hurt when you remove them ).
What I would love to be able to do is simply plug the laptop into the cd input of the amplifier, and have one high-quality headphone between the two of them for maximum comfort, but the two amplifiers I've tried that with ( a Marshall AVT50 and an SWR bass combo ), the laptop has interfered, giving me static ( along with the music though ).
As I've just blown a lot of cash on a 5150 II, its my only amplifier at the moment. So I'm looking to spend anywhere from 100-300$ at the most for a high quality practice amplifier, that gives a great headphone sound, which would preferrably be compatible with a laptop computer.
Or, is'nt there a modeling amplifier software program that allows you to plug into the laptop via a hardware adaption? If so, I could just take the money, purchase that, use headphones and practice to music that way.
Any response will be appreciated.
