Most metalheads hate skaters. I used to be one, but I've always been really into metal. Around here, I was pretty much the only reason the two got along. But then again, I think everyone around here skated for a while. I quit after my knees and ankles couldn't take it anymore.

Now I just play guitar, golf, and try not to die. I don't need to skate.

These guys used to fly a rainbow flag every day except 4th of July and Memorial Day. A couple years ago they invested in a second flag holder and nowadays Old Glory flies right alongside the rainbow. They also have the standard stickers and license plate frames with rainbows and pink triangles. I think that qualifies as openly gay, but I'm not familiar with Carlin's take on it.

If that's not enough to qualify as openly gay, they set up overly elaborate lighting and figurine displays on Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, AND Easter. They burn far more electricity during these holidays than all of my amps and A/V equipment combined at full blast. It looks like something straight out of Christmas Vacation. The man of house (the guy with the day job) directs the setup process while the homemaker (homomaker?) makes the appropriate changes and additions. This is usually a three to five day process during which they repeatedly walk out into the street to get a full view of their masterpiece and spend several minutes discussing the good and bad points of it before going back in for more changes. They have actually had the local news come and showcase their displays and people are constantly stopping their cars in the middle of the street to check it out. I used to do some minor Christmas light and Halloween decorations, but with these guys right across the street from me, I don't even bother any more. It would be the same as my band playing across the street from Morbid Angel (an unnecessary distraction). They are nice guys and all, but they consciously leave zero doubt about their orientation. If I have some spare cash to blow one of these days, maybe I'll outdo their Christmas display for a laugh. They would be crushed and embarrassed.

Skaters piss me off a lot of the time. I don't make any generalizations though. Or, I try not to.

Carlin finds the adjective 'openly' moronic. Likewise the twisted usage of the phrase 'happens to be.' I believe it's in You Are All Diseased.
