NEW NILE MP3
Called "Lashed to the slave stick"
Here : http://shop.relapse.com/dbmedia/audio/07%20Lashed3.mp3
or
Here : http://66.235.201.198/audio/07%20Lashed3.mp3
Infos from Neil K., taken from Nile forums :
"This is one of the shortest songs on the record. We also called it "the hit single" because it's definitely one of the easiest to get into - I personally really like this one and find it sticks in your head easily. As you noticed, there's no solo - in fact it's the only song without a solo. It's ALSO just about the *slowest* song on the album (apart from the really slow bits in the epic pieces, but those also contain REALLY fast crazy parts too).
So, I think this one is probably something of an anomaly in that it's not really representative of the rest of the album in tempo or intensity, but is definitely a good teaser. As I said before, I really like this one - it's one of my faves and I think it'll catch on.
On another note, George did this entire song on the first take. This tempo (180bpm if my memory is correct) is something he can play day in and day out and as you can hear he's totaly rock solid on it. Listen also to the uber-cool double ride cymbal stuff on the choruses and the whole end part. "

Awesome song. Wish it had more egyptian riffs.
it sounds like it just cuts out at the end. Who knows, it might go straight into another song. I just cant wait till its released!

yeah, a great song
It's one of the songs of the new album they already play live, together with Annihilation of the Wicked and Cast down the Heretic
I'm really looking forward to see them tomorrow

Mhh kollias is awesome!!
But I miss the "break-blast-break" drumming from the last 2 albums.
So I hope that not every song is like that , because I think thats under kollias abilities.
So what, it`s coool!!!!

I dunno. It is good, but it isn't Nile good. Too catchy.
Atleast it has been stated that it isn't representative of the album.

Still good though Perhaps they should slow the tempo down just a tad, and I do mean just a tad, on the rest of there songs; only if it helps the music really become clearer. I like fast stuff, but they are crazy fast at times. There is no chance to really hear them for all they are worth, unless you listen to them 24/7. Most songs I've heard from them were a blur of deathmetal. There is nothing wrong with slowing it down a few beats to really focus on the feel and full tone of what they can do, all imo, of course.

Sounds damn good to me. I think that was the first Nile song I've ever heard, too. It seems to me like there are simply two different types of death metal songs: the ones that suck, the ones that don't. This surely doesn't suck. I thought the tempo was fine. Not quite "blast" beat, but not too slow. Whenever they use the same tempo speed, but cut the time in half for the drum beat so that it's the same speed yet slower and more drawn-out on the drums, what is that called? "Half-Time Feel"? I think alot of changes like that with the drums in songs (as well as doubling-up the beat) are always good. I use it alittle too often with my own songs. Anyway, cool song. I just may have to pick up a Nile CD now.

well i was surfing around while listening to this track, and nothing stood out. possibly due to the fact there was no solo, or cool leads period. well its the oddball song of the album, so it doesn't matter. but why realease that song if it doesn't represent the album?

this is not bad, sounds like Nephren Ka but with a really good sound quality... But the vocals are weird, I dont remember Nile having this tone of vocals.. I hope on the other songs, Dallas does some sick gutturals.. I met that mofo and hes the best vocalist in the band, he has good gutturals.
the second half of the song is really cool.

I really like it. The vocals were definitely not what i was expecting but still good and the production seems to be pretty decent. Can't wait for the album!

It's been said a lot, don't worry about this song people, it's supposed to be the only one that isn't crazy and has solos. One of them has insane Nile blasting at 265 bpm.

For sure. For anyone doesn't realize this, listen to Sarcophagus. Karl and Dallas trade vocals throughout the entire song. Dallas starts off, and you can tell which lines Karl does from then on.

Great song, but come on, it could be a DOF song though...
and the guitar parts is very simple, I'd say that this song is like Aborted "Dead Wreckoning", holp that "Annihilation Of The Wicked" don't Disapoint me as much as "The Archaic Abbatoir" did.

oh, and i read somewhere that Dallas has had a much bigger part in writing the songs. Karl was quoted saying something like he had tons of trouble learning some of the stuff Dallas wrote.... which sounds like we're in for a hell of an album

Really? I like Dallas' contribution and Execration Text is one of my favourite Nile songs. Actually, this new song gives me a very Multitude Of Foes vibe.

It's really good, despite a lack of anything that truly stands out. Alot of thier albums have at least one song everyone usually skips over (cough cough sarcophagous). My only real complaint was that drum he uses that really stands out, it just sounds like he's hitting a board of wood at inconvenient times. But don't get me wrong, Nile still fucking rocks!

Tony is an amazing drummer. I liked the guitar riffs at the beginning, it's perfect for headbanging. But if this is the slowest song on the album then holy shit! I wonder what Nile's standard of fast is.

GD sent me 2 more new Nile mp3s.. it leaked
but since we've pre-ordered it, its okay for us to listen.
he sent me the intro track, which is all acoustic-y and a lot like saurian meditation. It was okay..
then he sent me the last track on it, and damn! 9 minutes of awesomeness!
this is all i will listen too before I ge the CD for real.

The best death metal i've ever heard I got to hear somemore of there stuff and that is suppose to be the black sheep of the album . Can't wait to hear what the good stuff sounds like. But for me the songs score gets cut in half for not having a solo. I like death metal hurray for me

Then you will also be pleased to know that this is supposedly the only song on the album WITHOUT at least one solo. Except if its one of those synth tracks that they do, I think there might be one or two of them.

I really like this song. I agree with John, it does sound quite 'multitude of foes' which is one of my favourite songs

theres atleast egyptian type interlude track, and its an acoustic track, so its like a solo.
any one who downloads this album, and doesnt buy it shall die.
Cant wait. I will be getting mine a few days earlier than its release though. Pre-orders are sent out a week earlier, I believe, and I paid for 3 day air mail.

got the album from Soulseek. Sanders is getting my money for this one.
FUCKIN AWESOME album. Casting Down the Heretic and the last song (Von Unau-something) are some of the best Nile songs ever.
