Samael
I read some reviews, but im still not as informed as id like to be. So i figured id ask you guys to fill me in on this band. How they are, how they, stuff like that. I only heard a few bad quality songs from Eternal, and i sure (i know) they werent always this way. I was thinking about just buying an album, but i hate wasting money on cds that turn out to be crap.
Id appreciate it if this doesnt turn out to be a thread in which most posts consist of "they suck", and nothing else. At least tell me why you think they suck so that ill know more about them. thanks.

Hmm, alright.
They used to play black stuff, then more black/industrial type stuff. Which was OK. Not particularly heavy, not particularly technical, but OK. They always got away with it because they were much better at what they did than Rammstein.
However, the new CD (Reign of Light) is a pretty glaring turn to the worst. It's lost whatever metal edge it had and just sounds, well, kind of fruity. The techno element is pretty hard.
They're quite popular, so pinch a bunch of stuff off Blood Ritual and Ceremony of Opposites from file sharing.

I havnt heard the newest stuff, but i figured it would be too techno-ish, considering what ive read on the changes they make throughout the years. Like i said, ive only heard Eternal, and now that you mention Rammstein, it was a little similar but way better. I liked it, and i might like some of their old stuff since you said it was black, but that will really depend on the style of black.

Their old stuff (Worship Him and Blood Ritual which I've heard) are raw, simple and mid/slow tempo Black Metal. Like many similar raw style representing Black Metal bands, their music isn't playwise in any world class what so ever but the very dark and chaotic atmosphere and the feel makes it great.

I had a few songs on my mp3 for a while. It did sound fruity indeed...
