POD XT Live
Anyone used one? How did it sound? I'm pretty interested in one, since it can do pretty much "everything", and I don't mind that digital sound.

the POD XT live is that new pedal right?
If so, I've used one...And I've come to the conclusion that its great if you have the right equipment for it (Variax, Line 6 Amp, etc). But I know it didn't work to great with my friend's marshall, but once we plugged it into his spider amp it sounded great, he also has a Variax and it sounds fantastic with it (hes a big line 6 fan)
I have a POD XT that I use for digital recording, I love it. I never really use it for anything but recording, but it still sounds good played through an amp...not as good as my boss gt-6 though

they sound pretty awesome. But only if you have a line 6 amp like kalmahswamp said. If you use it on any other amp, they sound okay though. Nice distortion etc.

Hmmm... I was probably just going to plug it into a power amp.

sorry, but i have the feeling you're talking out of your ass...
running a pod into a line 6 amp is like spiking your vodka with rum... redundant. and will probably have bad results.
the pod is basically all the features and shit from a line 6 head... but no power section.. so you can either use it as a stand alone preamp/fx unit or as a pedal board in front of another amp. if you have a decent line 6 head, you wont need the pod.

sorry, I'm not talking out of my ass. That was my experience. Maybe the other non line 6 amp was just a bad pick. I heard the thing on 3 amps in total. And played it on 2 amps. 1 line 6. The other one was a peavey.
I only told what I heard. And it kinda matched with what kalmahswamp said

well, personal prefference is one thing.. but it makes no sense to me, if you have a high end line 6 head, you'll already have pretty much all of the pod's features...
so when you say a line 6 pod will only sound it's best through a line 6 amp... sounds to me like you're just talking out of your ass.
it'll sound different from amp to amp. better or worse depends on the ears of the user. there is no "best" amp to use it with.

Well, i was probably going to run it through a tube poweramp of some kind... But if I was gonna do that, I might as well pull the trigger completely and get an ENGL preamp or Mesa Preamp.

that imo would be the best option. to run it through a good tube poweramp.
but i'm a bigger fan of just buying a good preamp and then a separate multi fx unit for the fx. like a rocktron replifex.
