hey dudes i m in the market for a guitar, and i ve just seen this charvel model 6 on ebay, what you guys think? I ve never played a charvel before but i ve played many a jackson, how much better are charvels?

charvels are kick ass i dont know if they are better than jackson

the charvel's from that time period are very good instruments. i would say they are on par with the current usa made jackson's. they blow away the imports. i wish i still had my charvel...  |

i had a san dimas. i got it in like 1996 right before i ordered my jackson custom shop soloist. it had a dark natural finish and the cream colored headstock. it was a h-s-s. i paid $1k for it new from ams. i saw one just like it on ebay go for almost 2 grand a few months ago. i've played a lot of charvels, though. model a's and model 6's and of course san dimas. i'm very fond of them. they were well built guitars.
edit: it was a san dimas II. i still have the paperwork from when i got it. it was a 1995 model from what i can tell.

my friend lee has a model 6, basically a jackson with a different logo on the headstock  charvel is an off shoot of jackson anyway....
forgot to add that his axe is a beaut! i have a model 1 myself, but only use it for different tunings

Wow thats a beautiful guitar. I think Kramer Barettas are very similar to those Charvels, and you can get them for like 300 american.

Well if its slim pickings over there, that Charvel is a real nice guitar, I guess if you find another one of those that wouldnt be a bad idea
Like I said, Kramer Barettas are pretty much the same thing, so I would at least keep my eye out for those.
