i havent timed it, but my washburn holds a note pretty good. Tremol-no will help that! Also, damn my pickups are probably attracting the strings a lot (strong magnets in the pickup) so with a JB in there, my sustain will probably get better. I'm using a Invader right now.

With my awesome Duncan Designed Detonators, it will scream and sustain for about 3 whopping seconds.

That movie has so many parodies that we can all relate too. Like when they get lost going to the stage, or the Air Force coming through the wirless guitar system, or the stage prop malfuctions.

My fav. parts are the "Well you know, I think my solos are special" or something like that and he's like playing the ugliest sounding solo and he starts playing it with his foot and shit and the crowds like YEAAAAHHH! And I also love the part where it shows them back in like the 60's and they're all psychedelic and hippish and Nigel's like playing a sitar solo and it shows like that twirling multi image of him.

i fuckin love that movie i got it on dvd for 7 bucks at a grocery store
But yea sustain, well i have a neck through so thats +1 and then a good duncan pickup, the JB +1 and the fact that its a really badass custom ran adds a +1 but it has a LFR so -1 so it has +2 sustain hope that helps lol.
But really it doesnt have bad sustain i dunno ill have to check it sometime.

Would a nicely built neck through alder body with like emg's and a OFR have better sustain, or like a nicely built set-neck using nice woods with some nice duncan's and a tune-matic?

I'd say the tun-o-matic will get you better sustain, but EMG really carry a long time. They don't have as strong a magnetic field to cause the strings to sag.

From the words of Neal fucking Moser:
"A good bolt-on guitar will have no or very little difference in sustain from a neck-through."
