How much would this cost?
Ok I have an Ibanez Black Pearl and love it. Great feel to it, light weight, have it tunned to B standard and to quote Exhumed "This Axe Was Made To Grind" but......
I don't like the Ibanez Edge Pro tremellos. I mean yeah they work good and all but it does'nt have the "squeal" to it like a Floyed Rose tremelo. How much do you think it would cost to take out the Edge Pro out and replace it with a Floyed Rose. Or should I just get a new guitar with a Floyed Rose like a Jackson or B.C. Rich?

if you love that guitar, then I would not suggest getting a new one.
not sure but the two bridges are probbaly about the same size, so if you can(or want to) put it in yourself then whatever the cost of the bridge is

Yeah but aren't the screws that clamp the strings in, aren't those longer on a FR?

Well, I know that here in the netherlands a floyd rose bridge cost 130 $. I had one installed in my explorer wich had a solid bridge, so they had to cut the whole thing out t make it fit and stuff. And it totally cost me 210 $ So just replacing the brdige would be like : 130 $ for the bridge....20 $ To have it installed. Sum it up and you have 150 $
But if you are thinking of getting an other bridge I would go for a kahler.

That's not that bad. I thought it would cost about as much as the freaking guitar. LOL I don't know about Kahlers. How is the sound on them?

Kahler is supposed to be better in every way than a floyd, but i think there are less people who deal with them.

Yes, what is this "squeal" you speak of Casketcrusher?

It's hard to explain in words.
Sorta like...well here is an example. Kreator's Violent Revolution solo. After he says "And my burning mind has gone insane." There is a dive bomb on the G string and then a natural harmonic on the 4th fret and he flutters the wammy bar and it sorta makes this sqealing type sound.
Slayer does it a lot as well.

That has to do with pickups/amp setup
You mean natural harmonics, screwed with by the whammy bar. The "squeal quality" would be due to the the pickups/amp

But also with the tremelo bar since the shitty Ibanez Edge Pro you can hardly get that thing to squeal at all. You have to really yank on this little stick they call a wammy. But with a Floyed divebombing and squealing are easy and you don't need to yank on the bar to get a cool effect.

I got a edge pro on my rg and i love it. its worse than a floyd rose whenit comes to setting up though. but once its set up right, it stays pretty damn good in tune. how long have you had yours? if you just got it it might taske some time to get used to

I had it for about hmmm half a year. It works fine like I said, but the Edge Pro doesn't have the tone of a Floyd. I mean it is possible to dive with the Edg Pro but you have to put pressure on the bar. But with a Floyd it is effortless.
