Australian Death/Black Metal?
in music at school we have to do an Australian piece from any genre we want. well, while they're playing Waltzing Matilda, ill blast some metal off my warlock. Any suggestions? im looking more for diversity in the song rather than totally brutal. im looking for an intermediate piece, the trouble is, i know jackshit of the Aussie scene.. name some QUALITY bands and ill look into them. oh yeah, they have to be Australian.
im thankfull for any help.

Get The Scepter Of The Ancients. You will surely impress someone if you can play it right at you music performance.
There are mp3's at their site, www.psycroptic.com

BESTIAL FUCKING WARLUST!!!!!! And Corpse Molestation. And Destroyer 666 has the same people from Bestial Warlust. But Bestial Warlust is better. I got War 'Til Vengeance the other day. It's my favourite CD.

I've heard good things about The Amenta, featuring the Haley's from Psycroptic. Worth buying anyone?

I've just read the reviews of their album at the link that our sufficiently heavy alien friend has just provided and it's definitely on my shopping list.

Amenta... they are sort of too, new school? They sound a little like new-wave death metal or something, there's something I don't like about them.

one word: abramelin.
two weeks ago, i played "pleasures by abramelin" as a solo performance, ie guitar with a backing track, and i got 85% of it, that's an A. only two guys can live up to my technicality, and they did some classical acoustic shit. not to say that wasn't a good performance, but my metal song showed them a thing or two about testicles and how i have two of them.
depending on how technical you can go, psycroptic, or devolved if you can actually find any tabs for them. astriaal is also another good suggestion, the tab i did is pretty good.

Yeah, same, but at least you can still tell Dave Haley is the one behind the kit.

Hmm, I find NAZXUL as the finest act from Australia. Music, which channels constructed chaos into music and is very atmospheric. Who said that synths doesn't fit to metal? Also I liked GOSPEL OF THE HORNS' primitive style of representing their mind through music. You can listen to them for long without getting bored. SPEAR OF LONGINUS is also good band to be mentioned. In their all very simple structured songs it is good, not any (not needed, in this case) ornation. Other very fine act from Australia is ABYSSIC HATE. They use many very sharply distorted guitars and repeative structures, which make this very hypnotic. This is very similiar as Burzum in Filosofem era, but overall are more compact and more clear shape. Maybe even better.
