hi i have just bought speed lives (no boundries) from metal method.
i was just wondering if anyone has mastered it yet,is it easy to play after a bit of practice.  |

There's been like 20 things on this, but who cares we all love Mr. Batio  . Hard to play considering technique, but nice and easy to learn cuz he plays the notes clearly and the song structure is pretty goo. |

thanks for letting me know about this already being metioned i didnt realise
also im a bit stuck on the arpeggios thats the only part i cant do i can play all the fast picking parts any tips on picking arpeggios.
or as mr batio would say(practice,practice,practice)

im practicing the song no boundaries of a tab, it5s pretty hard , but i think its more cuz of al the stuff u would have to remember awell

then by the time i get to the next one i for get the first. 
are you any good at the arpeggios any tips on how you do em. |

my memorie is pretty good i guess, the problems more to keep it going smoothly without loosing focus.
bout the sweeeeping
practice the movement slowly until u mastered it and like do it by accident when u panic (hope that makes sence) i mean make the movement a natural movement
ok to get to the point practice those movements every fucking day and master em
its gonna take time but ul get it 
i cant sweep the thing rilli fast but im at an okee speed (dunno what bpm and dont care either )
im about halfway the song now and im doing ok on most parts
the parts with the sweep and the tab on the highE is fucking me up though(i rilli hate that stuff)
awell practice alot, its definatly doable

okay
i meant on the tab or even the video lesson theres a bit where
you tremolo pick quite fast and with your left hand depending on what hand you use you go over the top of the neck and underneath the neck etc...
as he says rapid fire.

The over hand under hand thing he does is not speed up or fast forwarded. ive seen him do it 10 feet infront of me at an edd roman guitar store when he was doing a demonstration(kerry king was there earlier that day doing his thing too) that shit is pretty mind blowing.

did u ever see the version where he plays the 29 fret guitar?? its dloadable on most programs like kazaa, ares etc.

i dont have any link of the 4neck but i have a movie of it on my cpu
downloadable on ares and probaly on more programs(clip is probaly called 'nitro') cuz he played it on a nitro concert or sumtin
the clip is pretty amazing but then again its michael

u have it on dvd right??
if u have a clip of it on ur cpu, play it in BS PLAYER, u can set it to slomo by pressing spasce over and opver again, so u can see where he puts his finger
i did this to findout a tapping part by paul gilbert works pretty good
btw, i can play bout 35% of no boundaries album version, i can record sumtime and let u hear if u like (just gotta wait til im back in E)
EDIT: maybe il try to find those bitts out when i fele like it

Yeah the video is in Eb, but the real song (on one of his cds, and at the beginning of Speed KILLS, his other instructional video) is tuned in standard tuning. I can play about the first 1:20, the part I stopped at was the quick 1 octave sweeps, I didn't start learning to sweep until a couple months ago, only to realize that I was doing it wrong...... lol well anyway i've been practicing it and maybe I'll resume learning this song in a little while.

hi man
theres quite a few things different between the 2
one the tuning 2 its the same song just different solos
alot faster than speed lives also im guessing you have already seen it
because wer'nt you the guy who told us about the 29 fret guitar
if you are thats speed kills. |

Well it's not perfect, on the first really quick part of the song I can hit all of the notes while sounding a bit sloppy, I don't bother to "overpractice it"...... in human nature you will automatically get better at things you've learned over time as long as you don't forget it . Anyway, I started learning this 3-4 months back, then stopped, then I replayed it and I noticed how much cleaner my picking was. I'm also not gonna play it the way Angelo does in his video, with the solos in stuff, at least not until I completely learn it. For now, I have the tab for the recorded version of the song, like I said, from the cd. Just remember, don't overpractice it. I only work on one thing for a certain period of time, then I go and work on another.
