Try Gardenian then if you want some awesome melodic death metal. They're like a blend of Insomnium and Dark Tranquillity. They have different vocal ranges such as death vocals, power metal vocals, and female backup.

Get Heartwork from Carcass. Best melodic death metal album ever. Not as overtly melodic as some of the ones you listed, but old the foundations.

buy "wake up and smell the carcass"...it's a comp, but fuck it...it's still good. "Heartwork" is not the best melodic death metal album ever, my opinion.
obviously BDM & through the eyes of the dead are trying to bring back the whole melodic side of things into the fray, so..i dunno...go delving.

No-one said Suidakra yet, which is very melo-death. Significant omission. Their new album is NOT meeting with my favour.

only about 200 of them. i dont understand when people say Death arnt melodic. They are very melodic.
garden of shadows
god dethroned
maze of torment
warblade
ancient rites arnt death metal, but since you like mithotyn, i think you should hear their Dim carcosa and Father land. And as far beyond sane said, suidakra, though i dont wouldnt call them any form of death.

Dunno if they'd be considered progressive, but Crimson and Crimson II (Edge of Sanity) are very good, very melodic death metal albums.
