I read on a website that Alexi Laiho used Jackson Guitars. Did he used to use them or did he just now switch to them? Or is that a lie?

Haha I know he is a "usual customer", I really don't care if he got ownd by Jackson. I just love making fun about it because I have a friend who loves Alexi and he says like Jackson was a bitch and too cheap for not giving him another Jackson for free (it's like fuck, he's some midget w/ long hair, he's not like Mustaine). And what the fuck is this shit with everyone saying that Jackson sucks now cuz Fender owns them? Have any of you guys played a pre-fender Jackson custom, and a Jackson Custom now? I wouldn't know, but I don't think fucking Fender owning them now would make their custom shop shitty. |

Either way, His geetar were stolen. He called up fender and they said it would take a year to make the geetars he wanted, ESP could do it in 3-4 months AND offered him a signature line, and all his band members free instruments.
Of course he said yes.

mustaine was never really a big shreder though, his thing was more about rythm. and he was god damn good at it too. Poland and Freidman and Pitrelli were the big shreders for megadeth. i think alexi is alittle over rated anyway, he needs more variety in his songwriting, as do alot of bands nowdays. they all still make good music though, so its not a big deal.

yea, mustaine is a legend, alexi hasnt gotten there yet, alexi has good songwriting skills, i know he uses almost the same scales every time, but he also writes all the keyboard solos and melody's to, which he is very good at. Lets just say he studied his theory.

And obviously you can't take a fucking joke with the goddamn hammer smiley thing comin after it and somehow you put my taste of music in along with it. And SmotPoker, listen to stuff from the Peace Sells album. Mustaine in his later years was like pure rhythm, but in that album he's a crazy ass shredder. I used to think he was like Hetfield and he wasn't good at leads and stuff until I heard that album and was amazed.

Sorry Silent Night (Its funny.. thats a Bodom song) but Mustaine never excelled at leads, while he did write some very nice solos.. he knew little to know theory which is why he always had EXCELLENT lead players.
Alexi blows away Mustaine in pure technical talent, his lyrics suck though.

Yeah I know he is nowhere when it comes to the leads of...let's say Marty (one of my fav.), but you have to look at the Peace Sells album still, Wake Up Dead for example, blew me away cuz until I saw the video, I never knew he actually played those leads. |

What was cool about his early years was like on the Peace Sells album, he switches leads with Chris Poland who is a pretty decent player himself. Was even better on Rust in Peace when Marty would play like a really well constructed solo that makes sense, and Dave comes in with like a more crazy off-the-wall type of a solo. |

I don't understand why people insist calling Alexi Overhated, its a fuckin' bullshit man, stop that, how many guitarists do what he does? singing while soloing and stuffs like that, man its fuckin' tough considering the solo accuracy and singin' style.
By the way, I don't thing a person who made a fantastic piece of song like "Kissing The Shadows" could ever be considering overhated, the two solos on that song are fuckin' beautifull!

Jackson couldnt make him guitars he needed to replace his stolen ones he needed one by 4 months for the next Bodom tour, he had one on order and jackson cancelled it as they changed the rules regarding customs.
Thats why he wen't elsewhere, allthough jackson rang him a few months later and asked him about it he said basically you didnt want to help me so i'm not going to help you.
Also unless you have played a pre fender USA select and a Fender USA jackson you shouldnt say they suck as you obviously have no idea.
They arent mass produced like fenders though they still have the hand touches to them.

There shouldnt be a lawsuit (Rest of World bar the US model) if anyones too stupid to see the difference between a Standard SV and RR1 they should be shot it's nearly as abd as the gibson PRS Single cut lawsuit.
Wow you hate Bodom I don't see the relivance between this and the thread.
I would be pretty pissed if Jackson cancelled my order weather I was famous or not.
The custom shop still has the same guys working there, allthough usa select production has moved to the corona facillity(is this right), but I think they are still handmade.

yeah I don't know why there should be a lawsuit, there are plenty of differences between the two guitars. There's more guitars out there that look more closer to strats and les pauls then those.

I loove that Y2KV, its one of my favorites. and the ESP, I would put a Kahler on it and dig out that dumb 8-ball, but otherwise a not bad guitar. The body is a little big on that... I dont know why he made another custom guitar, which in my opinion is inferior to his others.
