Well, considering you didn't give me much detail, I can't help.

The best thing to do would be to calm down and either try to prevent the people from finding out, or wait and prepare for the inevitable. If it makes you feel better, a lot of people go to therapy for various things, and if people know that you went to therapy for it, it's going to soften the blow. Just calm down, when they ask about it, downplay it, and avoid feeding the rumours by providing any extra info or denying the accusations (instead of denying, correct them on any wrong point). Considering that runours tend to get weird, like once I started a petition and someone pulled it out of their ass that I was starting a cult, so let it settle down and be as casual as possible.

Quite obviously you were not in a stable state of mind at the time, I can conclude this by the fact that you can look back at it as a strange thing to do. Im sure there was some kind of stimulus that effected you to cause this, however I don't really know you, or the full surroundings of the event leading up to this, so I have no way of deducing what caused it.

My main point now would be, do you know for sure that people will find out. The events you are describing seem to be a worst case scenario. You are 16, so at your age, your peers should be somewhat mentally mature enough to accept that sometime "shit happens". I would be more worried for you if you were a couple of years younger. Sure, the lass you referd to will obviously be more careful around you, and that is to be expected, but the thing is, life is never as bad as it might seem.

When i changed to high school I had verry few freinds, since some of them had changed in the previous couple of years, one moved, and the other made some other freinds (whom the preoceeded to riticule me). THat was a verry frustrating period of my life. Now i have new friends, and life has continued. (in fact, one of them died and nobody told me, how fucked up is that!)

Im sure that if people do take it to the extreme that you imagine they might, they will no doubt forget about it sooner or later. But the thing is, we dont know you or your friends, so you have to suffice yourself with the knowledge that teenagers are fickle, they will find something new to focus their attention on, and for the most part, forget about the old thing that kept them so fixated.

Personally, I think Myles' theory is quite a good one. I'm sure it works well for him and people with similar personalities to him, and works for me to some extent too. To reiterate, LOG: You're a long time dead. It sucks in the short term, but it will certainly die down.

I think you are not afraid to seek help but are afraid of what others might think about you getting help. Nothing is wrong with seeking help about the way you feel. I had this problem before myself, but once you realize that getting help is the best thing to do and you seek it yourself then it becomes easy to say fuck what everyone thinks. Let them judge if they want but you are getting help and that is what is importent. By help I mean find someone that knows nothing of this stuff and who will just listen to you. You can might be able to work it all out yourself if you just had someone to talk to about it once in a while.

Besides, you have friends here too and we don't care what everyone else thinks about you. I had some major issues after I came back from the middle east last time and now I will have mental problems for the rest of my life. I'm better now but at times I can feel insanity pulling me back. The things I got dissable some people for life, but I will not let it ruin me, my family, my work, my music, or my life. I will fight it the rest of my life, but what helped me the most was accepting the problems and not hiding it. After that I was like, "fine think what ever you want( and people did and were crual at first ). I know I got problems and if are not going to help me then just stay away".

I hope you get through all this easily, brother, and I know you will. We are a bunch of pricks here most times but I can say I do care about what you are going through. Let us help if we can.

Wow............. I don't know what happened. I walked to where I stand outside in the morning (the circle we call it, basically us makin' fun of everything and anything for 15 minutes before school starts) and no one said anything. She was even cheerier than usual. ????? I don't know what happened. Scent is a funny thing. It creates bonds between parent and child. Some people you can tell are around just by their scent. And if someone suits your fancy sometimes the scent of them can be intoxicating. Extreme scenerio is lovers and underwear. Not my particular bag, but when an older gentleman got off the elevator that Denny, Bob, and I were getting on, I inhaled deeply and said that was the way a man should wear cologne. Must have been a Lagerfeld of some sort. I like those. But sometimes things get to an extreme and it sounds like that happened. I don't condone the behavior at all, but sometimes people do things they wouldn't normally do. There's a very fine line.
Even if anyone does say something to you about it, you do not need to say anything about the situation unless you really want to. You don't owe them anything. If you feel you need to talk to someone flesh and blood instead of on a forum, talk to a professional. Human Services has anonymous as well as others that can help you understand why you did what you did if that's a problem for you and also for the other person involved if they choose. Things like that can leave some scars in people's psyches sometimes.
I haven't read the whole thread but I think I got the gist of what you're talking about. The more you can understand yourself the more windows will open to your own eyes. It's happened to me through training I got for youth welfare and I'm an old woman! If I'd known so much of what I learned the last few years a lot of things in my life would have been different.
