Problem is all the Jerky stuff here in germany tastes like shit (not the import-american stuff, that`s delicious!) But the American good stuff is so expensive....

and to get a pizza you must first grow yourself a tomato plant, buy a cow and and curdle its milk, collect yeast from various plants and grains and add it to the flour which you no doubt, made yourself as well.
that, or you can just go to your nearest vendor . theres people here that make all kinds of jerky.
made some food last night. PIC
my three favorite vegetables. potato, onion and bell pepper/capsicum.

a bowl of fritos with chili and some cheese on top. been a while
i tried a few different things with the potatoes. ran out of bell pepper so i used very mild jalapenos instead. turned out with some incredible flavor! (also thanks to the sausage). probably the biggest taco ive ever made, but the whole thing isnt shown here: PIC
now heres something ive only tried a few times. a dessert (which i rarely have). waffle with chocolate on it: PIC

gahah. why did you buy so many hotdogs! just find something fairly easy to cook, and that you like to eat. even if youre poor well... a bag of potatoes, 3 bell peppers and 3 onions is about 5 dollars, haha. flour tortillas for tacos and corn tortillas for chips then jalapenos and butter, maybe 7 dollars.
thats what i do. i get like 13-15 meals for a little over ten dollars.

Damnit, yea I've got to start buying cheap food that won't wreak havoc upon my colon. Pretty much anything is better than hot dogs. I think I'm gonna take the tortilla approach. I feel like I'll have many options with tortillas

Anyone else prefer making homemade salsa over store bought/restaurant salsas? Just made my first batch of salsa and I am more than pleased with the outcome. Next is to make some orange dip worthy of eating.

Make an omelette. I usually have 8-10 egg whites with a little milk in them every morning with ketchup. They're not bad.

yep. cheese and salt. i wouldnt put ketchup, but my dad does.
and JoeYngVai, dont forget about the taco option here too . if you slice potatoes up you can cook them with the eggs and make "breakfast tacos". i dont usually do that, but it IS another way to make eggs better.

Porker. Stop that. Enjoy your food even if it is Arby's.
I made homemade whole wheat pizza crust in my bread machine and then put it on a cookie sheet to bake with olive oil, pizza sauce, green peppers, onions, bacon, ground beef, freshly grated mozzerella cheese, and mushrooms on half because eldest son doesn't like them. It's pretty darn tasty.

that sounds... magnificent right now.
If I had plenty of money to spend I could actually make a decent meal. I like making good food, but I'm talking about cheap cheap cheap cheap food here.

I also prefer to eat incredibly fast. Even while eating at nice restaurants I finish my meal within 5 minutes of arrival.

Do you wipe your silverware off on your shirt before you use it, too? When my husband was home on leave his mom would get so mad at him for doing that at the table and tell him she washed her silverware. It was just out of habit from the Navy.

we didn't have to wipe off our silverware. no time for that. though we used to have to chug 3 glasses of water with every meal and flip the cup upsidedown after you empty it and i still get the temptation to do that every now and again.

Cooking dinner for my girlfriend and her family tonight.
Seasoned chicken breast cut into pieces
4 bags of boiled rice later adding butter and a small amount of velveta cheese
squash, bell pepper, onion, matchstick carrots(hand sliced)
Yummmm.
Now I'm frying some squash with cornmill.

That sounds great! Do you cater?
Hubby said when they'd get new guys on the ship and they were in the mess hall one of the old timers would put a bag of stew down the front of his shirt if they were in rough water and then say he was gonna puke before he'd hit the bag and make it look like he was. Then a couple other guys would grab their forks and yell "I get the chunks" and start eating it. The new guys would run from the table gagging. lol

hah, ive recently had two kinds of pasta, pizza, farinata and gnocci (sp?) made by an Italian.
today i made salsa verde. one pound of tomatillos, onion, bell pepper, cilantro, ground sea salt and one habanero. only my second time making this kind, and i already know what i'll continue to do for it. later, i'll make the regular (red) salsa too. cool stuff.

ah, that pizza looks good!
Does anybody else despise DiGiorno? That may be the worst pizza ever. It leaves this plastic aftertaste in my mouth for up to two days...

Has anyone here ever tried this stuff? I bought a bottle the other day and I fucking love it. One of the best hot sauces I've ever tasted, and it's mad spicy too.

Never had it. my favorite hot sauce has been Red Devil cayenne for a good while now. Louisiana sauce became a distant memory.
Dinner was almost too pretty to eat, tonight
And damn easy to make.

That stuff is great!
Looking good Timez! Haven't had that sauce before...food looks awesome though.
Made some kick ass pulled pork sandwiches today...starting last night.
Rub I mixed together..That Blair's Death Rain habanero rub is pretty potent stuff.
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c...od/IMG_7794.jpg
Slathered on some jalapeno mustard and some ez earl's blazin' hot stuff. The blazin' hot stuff is hands down the spiciest bbq sauce I've ever had..it's also one of the best tasting one's I've had. Worth a try for sure..there are less spicy versions that should taste basically the same.
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c...od/IMG_7799.jpg
Rub + mustard/bbq sauce. Let it sit in the fridge overnight to sort of soak in the flavor and hopefully tenderize a bit.
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c...od/IMG_7802.jpg
After 8 hours of low and slow cooking in the oven...about 250F. Once it reached 190F internally, the bone was practically falling out and I wrapped the whole thing up in some foil and poured a little coca cola on it...turned down the heat to about 125F and put it back in the oven. Shortly after I decided to just turn off the heat and use the heat that was still contained...then I just said screw it and opened the door. The foil really does a great job of keeping the heat in and finishing off the roast.
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c...od/IMG_7808.jpg
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c...od/IMG_7809.jpg
After 1.5 hours of hanging out in the foil, I pulled it out and pulled it apart with two forks. You know it's done right when it pulls apart with ease. The bone had pretty much separated from the meat and came out with minimal effort..the rest of it shredded up nicely with the forks.
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c...od/IMG_7810.jpg
Threw on some cole slaw and some NC style bbq sauce..
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c...od/IMG_7812.jpg
Finished product on an onion roll. I put some blazin' hot stuff on the second sandwich I made.
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c...od/IMG_7813.jpg
Time consuming but pretty easy..just takes a little work getting the internal temp just right and pulling it out of the heat at the right time. Try it!
edit....forgot to mention..I was at basstendencies house a few days ago and he made some badass food! Forgot what the dish was but it was great. His cooking puts mine to shame...he needs to post some shit in here. Also, I need to learn how to make what he made that night.

Yeah, that Rooster Chili sauce is awesome.
Graf, you know where the flavour is at brotha! haha. I got my BBQ out the other day for a season of grilling. I can make good steaks/chicken breasts/burgers on it, but I'd love to try some pulled pork this summer. Was that slaw homemade? Also, I saw the Chimay glass, what beer did you have with it?

That was some Hades from Great Divide...a belgian-style strong pale ale. It was good but I mainly just ate without drinking until the food was gone.

On a more mature note, I'm so glad I tried that shit. I'll never go back to that Louisiana style rubbish again

McCoy's salt and vinegar crisps. Fuckin' best crisps in the world. Well, unless you get one of the many packets in circulation which contain barely any flavour.

I'm a big chip or "crisps" fan as you might call it. By far my favorite are the barbeque flavor, only some select brands though. Jalepeno Cheddar chips are also great.

I just made spaghetti with ground beef and had fresh sliced Italian bread on the side. Good stuff.

I've got a lot of sauce left. C'mon over.
Actually I get the #10 cans of Redpack Spaghetti sauce for about $6 and cook up a couple or 3 pounds of meat to throw in and freeze what I have left. Then if I want to make lasagna, pizza, or more spag I already have the sauce done up. We all like the spices in it and it's cheaper in the long run than getting smaller jars. If you're careful and let it cool first you can freeze it in plastic ziplocks or even old plastic peanutbutter jars. Just don't fill them all the way to the top or when they get pointy on top from freezing they'll crack the plastic.
