Floyd Rose advice
hey guys. I broke a string of my Jackson DXMG Dinky with a Licensed Floyd Rose. So I changed it. But then the best local guitarist said to me, that I should
lower my bridge, because the action is too high. Can I fuck up my guitar by lowering or raising the action?
Thanks for your advice. An by the way, the advice for restringing a Floyd Rose was very helpful. Thanks for that too.

no, just don't lower it too much as youl get fret buzz.
lowering the action will also help you play slightly faster.

not unless you are lowering the action by cranking on the truss rod to lower the action.. I've heard of some retards doing that..
But, just lowering the bridge a bit shouldnt hurt anything at all. If it buzzes then raise it a bit, no harm done.

Make sure the bridge is parallel too. I don't know how to do the truss rod thing cuz I don't know what people mean by the "relief" of the neck, so I stay away from touching that.

I don't really fuck with my Floyd Rose too much.
But adjusting the action doesn't hurt much. I believe there should be some alan key screws located at the top and bottom on the tremolo. Make sure to turn them both the same amount. Make sure you don't set it too low or you will get some fret buzz.
I wouldn't touch the truss rod. If you can't decide, take it to your local music shop and let them set it.

if the neck is perfectly straight, then there will be more fret buzzage. then neck needs a bit of 'relief', a slight bow, so it wont buzz as much.
press down the fret where the body meets the fretboard with your right hand and fret the 1st fret with your left hand. there should be a little bit of space between the frets and the strings. Not a lot of space, but just a little bit ( not sure about the exact measurements)
but yeah, thats relief.
truss rods arent that amazingly hard to deal with. 1 pointer, dont turn it too much, 1/4 turns at a time, and wait for it to sit a while before twisting it again.
tightening make it 'hump' and loosening it makes it 'bow'

Bastardy floyd roses, i spent half an hour pissing around with mine setting the bridge to be paralelle and made the mistake of putting her in drop D. You change the tuning a few times and its right out again.
I just leave it, and save up for a new guitar.

One thing that deserves to be mentioned: If you adjust the bridge height with full string tension on the bridge, the knife edges (the things the bridge balances on) may get worn down, resulting in worse tuning stability.
