Dimarzio or emg and amp
Later this year I'm planning to have new pickups installed in my warrior I need opinions I'm leaning toward emg zakkwydle set since I know what they sound like but I keep hearing good things about Dimarzio evolution. And I wanna play thrash so that should be helpful. Also later this year I'm planning on getting a new amp and my budget is $600. I have no idea what to get so opinons.

Well, Slayer uses EMGs and they have good thrash tone. I have an EVO in my ibanez right now, and it sounds good. Ballsy, bright, thick. Its nice, but I prefer EMGs myself.

well, there is no better or worse... just different.
personally i think they're both pretty awesome... emg's are pretty tight and clear sounding while still providing a crisp high output signal, without alot of noise.
but then again, passive pickups just a have a mojo of their own. more of an "earthy" vibe if you will.
varies alot from person to person.

Thanks guys. For now my decision is emg but it might change, but I must say on my guitar evos would look a hell of a lot better.

Really, how are those things? I remember I tried it and it really didn't sound too gainy or like anything special, but then maybe I wasn't doing something right. Then I saw this guy using it and it sounded really good.

That kinda depends. Some of their shit are on of the best s.s. amps around, others are some of the crapppiest s.s. amps around.

Go with seymour duncans, then adjust the amp around that. I dont see why anyone would want emg's on a high gain amp.

In my opinion, this is only if the high-gain amplifier in question is grainy and unclear itself, should the use of high-output pickups be questioned.
If I'm not mistaken, are'nt EMG's actually low-output pickups, but given an extra boost by its active characteristics?

I have heard that passive seymours on decent wood have the best tone. Also, for a SS amp, I'd reccomend the Roland Cube-60. Just read some reviews.

I'm still thinking on the pickups what type of affordable amp do you recommend.

Well, the question I must ask is what are you goin to do with your amp?
Are you going to just play at home with it, do some jamming, or full band practice and gigging?

the GT3500H I have. Perhaps you mean that. Its freaking awesome. Definetly one of crates Good SS amps. The GT1200H is just like shit one but is 120 watts instead of 350 watts and it doesnt look as cool as the gt3500h.
