Eruption is not a hard song, but I never learned the whole thing cuz most of it is just a bunch of useless fast playing, I only like the beginning line and the tapping part. It also helps on that song, if you use good effects to get a good tone.

It was the first solo I learned.. The tapping in it is very simple, as it most of the solo. I cant be arsed to relearn it and find a way to record it just to prove to some internet kids that its not hard.

Eruption and Crazy Train are both excellent solo's to learn as your first.

Seriously though, I can't count how many times I've heard people claim they can play it, but I have yet to hear anyone do it anywhere near as well as Van Halen. I'm laying down a challenge for one of you to back up your claim. And I don't want to hear another crappy version where someone plays all the notes but displays no sense of style, timing, or finesse.

There's this one guy in my school who can play it perfectly, and I mean perfectly. Flawless in every way note for note, and his tone perfectly matches V. Halen's. He uses like a cheap crate amp along with a multi-effects thing and some kind of a Kramer.
