the devils tritone

I was reading a while back on another site that there are certain chords or something that are called the devils triads or tritones, and if you played them a certain number of times something will happen. I know King Crimsons has them on some of their songs, but can anyone post some tablature that involves these chords or whatever? Thanks.

alot of slayer tunes, i think the three notes in the verse of black sabbath is this tritone

however if you play them a certain number of times, the only thing thats gonna happen is people will get bored of the same three damn notes

I heard that if you play them a certain amount of times satan comes out of the underworld and wreaks the apocalypse upon our meager earth...

There's an actual old legend, you are not allowed to use the devil's triad in music. The devil's triad is a progression that you have to go through several times and then you will hit a tone thirteen times in a row. When this happens the human mind cannot resolve itself, it doesn't know where to go to resolve this music you've heard. In every song you ever hear it always resolves going into the chorus line or coming out of a verse. If you play the devil's triad and there's a person alone in the room they will start feeling anxious. And the anxiety will rise itself to the point where they will turn into a screaming maniac trying to get out of the room.

Sounds kinda cool? no.

but I would like to play in a concert in church or something, and just suddenly play a bunch of tritones to see what would happen.

This MIGHT be it.

I know it was used in Silent Scream by Slayer (BADASS riff).

[EDIT: I played the progression 13 times in a row, nothing happened.]

Nothing happened because Slayer is immune to that stuff. I would go insane and run outta the room too, if I was playing some boring ass chords over and over.

All music can be resolved - it just depends on how many times you play it. Listen to Meshuggah (particularly Gods Of Rapture) for an example of how this is so.
