This is a very subjective topic.
Not to mention that you are omitting at least 100 other brands I can think off(Zon, Modulus, Spector, Ernie Ball, Marleaux, Roscoe, etc.)

Fodera
Musicman
Alembic

The best one is always your own bass guitar because you are used to play with it.

Esp as best basses made?! have you played any of the basses listed above??

I like the sound of alembic, but not the shape of the body, there pretty ugly.. but the slap sound is unbeleivable.

I love the sound of Wal basses, Geddy Lee owns one, and Justin Chancellor from Tool plays one.
I own a Fender, and I love it but Warwicks kill as well, not to mention Spectors which are pretty honorable.

money

of course with more money better quality but i would warn you to play it first because the two custom bass guitars i've had that i paid dearly for didn't play as well as my cheapy ibanez. what ever you can afford is a good bass guitar. bang for buck though i'm voting on Ibanez.

I haven't had the privilege to play something that could be the best bass ever. I'm currently playing a Peavey -- which is the best I've ever owned. At one time, I had a bass that was so shitty that it had written on it "Saturday Night Special" and that was it. It didn't even have a name or an official company. So just from my crappy experience, I really like Peavey. But I've never had the money to play those top-notch basses.

You don't need money at all, just go to your local music store and if they have bass guitars on display they usually give you a chord and let you play.

I mainly play guitar, but some bass. I've heard about a company called Corvin that I'm curious about. Have any of you heard about them?
