You should try some contacts cleaner. A bottle of it would costs like 4 or 5 bucks and should be easy to come by. (Try radio shack?)

If that doesn't work just get yourself a new volume pot altogether. It shouldn't be expensive (like 2 or 3 bucks) or hard (easy to solder, just make sure you first look how the old one was soldered, and make sure the HZ rating is the same as the old one)

i have a mate who has a jackson warrior and it does exactly the same. I think its because they are wired so cheaply and crapply. His stopped working in the end so he bought a new volume pot and wires ect

Yeah, there's two types of pots: linear and audio
Make sure you get the audio type (non-linear) and match the impedance value (typically 1 MegaOhm on volume knobs).
Always draw a diagram of the wiring before you take it apart...

Do you know if you can pay to have someone do it for you cause i'd prolly end up wrecking it. And do you have an estimate of how much it could cost.

Any guitar repair shop (or electronics repair shop). How much depends on who it is and how much they like you, but I wouldn't pay more than $20.

Realy, its simple man. Your better of doing it yourself because it'll let you learn things about the guitar and how it works you otherwise won't. Its a simple case of de-soldering 3 wires on the old pot, and soldering them back on the new one.
