Pledge with Orange Oil - The speed secret?

I just spent half the day cleaning two years of finger grease out my fretboard and I randomly used a bottle of Pledge with Orange Oil that was laying around. Not only did it clean up my guitar nicely, it left a nice light oily coating that quickly transferred to the new strings. Feels smoother than that String-Ease crap and doesn't have the toxic smell, just a fresh orange scent. Since I've done no long term experimentation with it, I'm not technically recommending it, but I'm very happy with it so far and my slides are super smooth.

Clean fretboards are smooth, no secret.

I'm saying the strings are slippery. My fingers don't even touch the fretboard unless I'm bending...

its probably not good for the finish, and will probably make your strings turn black.
once, me and our drummer smeared motor oil all over our bassist's guitar. fun times

Pledge? Is it the wood polishing shit? How would it ruin the finish?

Yeah, it's the wood polishing shit. I did the whole guitar with it and it looks brilliant. "No wax buildup" as the bottle claims and no negative effect on the strings yet...

Yeah I used that for the body, I wasn't sure about the neck though, so I just left it. Let us know how it pans out...

I may try this out on one of my lesser guitars. I'll just wait for any long term effects you experience
