John uses these handmade amps.. the guy only makes around 10 a year.
Live he uses a TSL and a Powerball I believe.

Yeah, I would probably only use something like that in the studio, because it probably cost an assload and even if John Schaefer has the cash to pay for another, it wouldn't be worth it. Plus a TSL and Powerball are both great amps.

Not at all man. ENGL amps are hand made, and they probably cost way less than what john paid for his hand made amp.

Plus if one broke or got stolen, its not just the cost.. its the time. I bet its a LONG wait.

The "Ridiculous and not needed" price range. I assuming it's probably at least as much as a Diezel Vh4, if not more.

It porbably only has two channels.. maybe even one.
If your serious about guitar playing than I'd say its worth it. John found an amp he loves so he paid the amount it cost.

I suppose, but for someone such as me, who loves playing guitar, and loves having great tone, I still couldn't drop down 5000$ for just an amp head.

I sense a slight amount of sarcasm here. The Avenger actually sounds pretty good, but its not versitile at all...

He gets a good tone, and a wide variety of tones, only at a very high price.
As for the Avenger.. its a kickass amp.. but only one channel which is why XDX was poking fun at it.

Yeah, I'm always changing my mind about gear. I need one thing though, a sick fucking distortion that sounds like Suffocations Peirced From Within.

the avengers pretty much the lead channel and power section off of a slo 100.. awesome amp..
i mean, if you want godly good tone and all that... but you only need one channel... do you really need a "custom handmade just for you" amp? there are an insane amount of botique amps that are more than good enough.
i guess if i had tons of money though i'd go for it too... just because.

Yeah, probably. For the moment though, I'll stick with Rack stuff and keep looking for an Ampeg Vh140c.

nothing is wrong with it... i was just making fun of this black metal band i know that uses an insane amount of it on everything. i guess they feel more necro with all that reverb washing away the sounds of them sucking.
like all effects, it has it's place.

I dunno, for some smooth lead work a little bit of verb wont hurt.. Necrophagist might use verb on some leads.

except fuzz, fuzz is useless. you could just mess with your guitar chord and get the same effect couldnt you? a little stomping goes a long way
