nile sawblade??
i was just watcing the nile video for sarchophagus(sp) and the drummer had a saw blade looking symbol?! it is actually a saw blade or just a symbol cut like one?
also how would that help the sound any?

A lot of drummers use sawblades. If it rings, it's percussion  Boat propellers too, and once I made a cymbal out of a cookie tin, but I hit hard and I destroyed it pretty fast.
I wonder where could I get a sawblade at a god price? It would be weird to turn up at a tool store with drum sticks...

yep saw blades, boat props, a mate of mine even has an Old mini disk brake (very thin) which has an awesome ring to it.
if it makes a noise when you hit it, it is percussion (women do not count in that statement  )

You cant get them at almost any hardware store, but i dont know how much they cost. I dont think i'll be adding a sawblade to my kit anytime soon though.

I definetly have a 10 inch saw blade downstairs, i'm gonna play it later. i'll let you guys know what I think.

It's pretty fucking awesome. It sounds kind of like an Ice Bell, except darker.

i used to work at a hardware store. a cheap one is about $10.00 CDN

erm the are fine, just put them in a position where you can't easily hit them with ANY part of your body, because a blunt as fuck sawblade can and will cut through flesh quite happily, a mate of mine ended up after a gig with a nice 3" gash on his arm cause of his sawblade.
