Mic Help!!

I use a digital workstation to do my recordings. I just bought a condenser recording mic.
Everytime I record my voice it is so low compared to the instrument playing that it is almost impossible to hear. So I did test experiments to assure there is nothing wrong with my mic. I did test records on all the inputs of my recorder and tried different mics and they all record at the same low volume.

When I record something I usually bring it to the computer to edit it. When I compare the wave size of my vocal compared to the instrument playing it is so extremely very small compared to the wave of the instrument. Can anyone help me?

What setup do you use to record your voice (if you do record your voice).
