If the tuning machines are real bad then that could be the problem.
Also, if these are brand new strings then they have to stretch.

take off the locking nut, turn the tuning pegs, put the locks back on, adjust the fine tuners on the trem.

Unhappy The problem is not about a tuner!

I've been playing for 5 years so I think that I can tune a guitar!!
The problem comes from the bridge. I just don't know how to tune an Edge Pro 2 bridge!

You have to tune it once, then another time, then another, then another, ....And the last time you´ll see that the tuning does not change a lot from what you have , to what you need.

The problem here (i think is this problem), is that if you tune the first one and then the second one, the tension of the second string will help the first string to keep the tension of the bridge, so the first string will detune (b), because it hasn,t got the same tension it has before.
The trick is go tuning till the tension you have to change one string didn,t change the other strings tuning.

I don´t know if you understood something, but I TRYED.

now i remember why i disabled my floyds. i never have tuning problems now, even with the locking nut taken off(which is how i roll). i don't have any need for a whammy bar. staying in tune is much more important to me.

You took your locking nut off? Did you replace it with one of those graphite kits?

I dont use my whammy bar much... but one my floyd is properly set up it will never go out of tune..

Dont worry Def, I had my noise making phase.. I learned every trem trick their is.. then I decided I wanted to make music. Plus I rarely use the trem cause when I make up music in my head I dont hear divebombs and such.

they're not if you're using them like you should

why don't you understand the link BLS posted? it's all explained perfectly there, what don't you understand?

you have a tuner, right?

now. take off the locking nuts with the imbus thing, tune the guitar normally with the tuning pegs, till it is in tune, go from the upper string to the lower string, most of the time you'll have to do it twice or even more. then tighten the locking nuts again with the imbus.

ok. now you get to use the fine tuners, grab your tuner again and use the finetuners on the back of the bridge to tune the whole guitar again.

that should do the trick, my guitar with an original Edge trem stays in tune flawlessly for two weeks even after heavy abuse. thats when the strings get changed because they start to sound shitty and dirty.

Dude i bought that guitar about 2 months ago and i tuned down to eb the first day i bought it!! read your booklet, theres like a whole page on the edge 2! there's shit all problem with the bridge on that guitar! a few things that might help you though:
1) Make sure you are using a set of 9s
2) make sure your trem is parallel to the guitar's body, if not, follow the directions in the booklet to tighten the trem springs.
3) I found it easier to unlock all the strings at the nut, then tune them over and over until they stay in tune before locking them all at the nut. Fine tune at the bridge then enjoy.
4) If you are playing down tuned expect a bit of work getting the trem + neck to adjust.

If you are prepared to spend a bit of time adjusting the action, trem springs etc. thats a great guitar man.

one extra voice never hurts...

take the locks of at the nut.
tune the bottom string to E
tune the next string to A
go back and tune the bottom to E again.
go and tune the next string again.
and so on untill they are both perfect.*
remember, all strings change when you tune one.
next include the d string.
repeat untill bottom 3 strings are tuned.
keep adding another string untill all strings are in tune.

note: this takes bloody ages, but after a while you will start to get better and compensating. for example, tuning the bottom string a tone higher than you want it will mean less adjustment when you tighten other strings.
it probably takes me about 5 mins from scratch now(two years practise).

*maths and logic says you will never get it perfect, like the tortoise and the hare.

make sure you are set up for the right guage strings and tuning. changing this will mean you have to set it up again.

most useful thing i have discovered:
when changing strings, just take of one nut-lock at a time, change and tune the strings then put it back on and do the next one.
my nuts are 2 strings wide um, yeah.
this makes it not take much longer than a hard tail.

another tip if you're using floyd like systems,

use the strings the other way around, that way you won't have to cut them twice (ball-end in the direction of the headstock!)
