Another good post rock band: Paatos. They actually have structured songs, singing, and such, but they are still wonderful. At times a mix between Bjork, soft Opeth, and others I can't connect at the moment.

Yeah, I have Paatos too. Not bad, but I'm not always in the mood for them. I usually listen to GYBE while I'm on the computer, and trying to relax.
Oh, and Nihilist? Over the years, I've seen many non-metal bands in this forum. There is nothing wrong with being open minded musically. But if you have no interest, then don't post.

yeah Godspeed is pretty cool. i've got Rock Action by Mogwai as well and thats an excellent album. i didn't like their new album too much though, the single was great - Hunted by a Freak, but overall no other song really compared to it.

Yeah, Hunted By a Freak is a great song. If you are into the whole post rock thing, check out A Silver Mt. Zion's album "He has left us alone but Shafts of Light sometimes grace the corners of our rooms." Its on par with some Godspeed stuff.

Yes, but its not repeatitive. Opeth, on the other hand, tends to repeat some of their greatest riffs to the point of monotony.
But I still love them anyway... Well, long songs shouldn't be a turn off.

"Deliverance." The song could've been cut to 8 minutes without some of the extra shit, and repetition. And not to mention, the entire album could have been at least 10 minutes shorter.
I don't mind the album, but it does get a little boring in spots.
