Sonic Maximizer and Amp

Hi i have two questions, the first one is for the ones who have played a 5150 head, does it makes too much sound when you turn it on?. The thing is that i turn it on and when i push the standby button it makes this hizzing sound like dust, but is too much, does anyone know what is that and how can i fix it??

My other question is about a Rack gear, i have a BBE Sonic Maximizer and a Rocktron Hush and my 5150 head, the thing is that the send and return of my head doesn't work so my cousin connected them a different way, but i don't know if it's right. The BBE Maximizer has two channels.

From channel A of the BBE, the input goes to the output of the hush and the output of the same channel goes to the input of the head. Then the output of channel B of the BBE goes to the input of the hush and the input of the same channel goes to my guitar. And all the gear works, the hush, maximizer and head works. But i don't know if is wrong to connect them that way, or is it fine??? Here it is a look of the connections:

BBE Sonic Maximizer:
Channel A:
Input---->output of hush
Output--->input of 5150 head

Channel B:
Input---> my guitar
output---> input of hush

Thank you

which hush is it? the pedal or one of the rack versions?

i'd set it up guitar--> hush--> amp

and fx loop send-->one side of the bbe-->fx loop return.

well, i guess he should get it fixed or he's fucked, i never really liked the bbe unless it was in the fx loop.

Get the loop fixed.. and I wouldnt be surprised if the BBE was causing the noise.

The question im asking is, does the BBE or the hush or the amp has a chance to burn or malfunction? Or can i use them like i have them. I don't care if it doesn't sound good enough, im getting the fx loop fixed, but in the meantime can i use them the way i got them connected without getting them in a harmway????

Do this, Guitar-5150-effects loop out-BBE-Hush-effects loop in. This should solve your problem.

i'd just put the hush before the amp and not even worry about the bbe until you get the loop fixed.

Hi, i just opened up my 5150 head and found out that theres nothing wrong with the effects loop, but it doesn't want to work, i don't know if i'm connecting the maximizer wrong or something. Ho do i connect my BBE to my 5150 using the effects loop???

Another thing is that i have the footswitch, when i push the effects button, the whole sound just dies, it sound like the volume was at 0.5, when i have it like 4. And then i push it back and the sound comes back??? Is that wrong or is the 5150 that way???

Thanks

.

Have you recently blown a tube on your 5150? This can sometimes cause an internal fuse to blow. If your effects loop doesn't work at all....first take some contact cleaner and spray the end of a guitar chord, then insert and excert the chord into the FX loops input and output jacks. This should clean the pots out.

If that doesn't work, you possibly have a blown internal fuse. Take out the guts and check the fuses (if you don't know what you're doing don't try it. take it to a tech). If this is what is wrong....you can take the blown fuse to radioshack and get a new one.

Also, are you sure it's the FX loop? Have you tried other units through the loop?

If there are some of those level thingies on your effect stuff turn them up, or turn the send level thingy up if you have one .
