Update on New Nile
NILE guitarist/vocalist Karl Sanders has issued the following update on the recording sessions for the group's new album:
"We are now finished with the mixes on the new NILE album, entitled 'Annihilation of the Wicked'. We are extremely happy with the mixes Neil Kernon [producer] gave the new songs, he has given us a very clean, clear and honest yet brutal representation of our new material.
"Now we are impatiently waiting on the last step in the process — mastering. We hope to have the album back in our hands by the end of this week, with a release date sometime around March/April to coincide with our support slot on the U.S. KING DIAMOND tour."

I finally picked up "In Their Darkened Shrines" a while ago. Holy shit, I didn't really like nile because of "Black Seeds of Vengeance", but that album kicked my ass, I will be anticipating this.

Eh, I thought it kinda licked nuts. Execration Text just makes me nut every time I hear it though, Darkened Shrines seems way more straightfoward than Black Seeds was. Although, I would be hard pressed to deny the greatness of "Masturbating the War God", or "Defiling the Gates Of Ishtar".

I hope the production is more like Amongst the Catacombs - BSoV and ITDS had a weird ass production, you can hear the speakers flab out because they're tuned so low.
