They don't want a band like Lamb of God because of their past name yet they perfer a crappy band like Slipknot. If I remember correctly, don't they have a song that mentions 666 in every other word?

What I can't stand is how they god banned for what they WERE called.. I could change my name to "anti-christ" and then change it back and still go to church.. Why can't a band play in a place thats run by a church group because of what they were once called.. But slipknot can...

there are many church venues in america around 200-300head volume, 1st unitarian in downtown philly for an example, the reason why this happens, churches hosting punk rock/metal shows: alot of churches are closed or barely subsisting with AA services and counselling of various kinds. they rent the basements out to promoters. they get a cut out of the shows, helps keep them running. i dont know about the lamb of god instance your talking about but, church venues are quite common, and usually they dont care whos playing cause they are getting paid

im not really suprised that a church owned organization banned them from playing there i mean after all... im pretty sure we all wouldnt want metal to be mixed up with a bunch of religious stuff... but it's just not right that they let slipknot play.
o and on a second note...
lamb of god is awesome. the riffs are just great and the drummer is very talented... great dexterity.
