C.P.E. Bach
thats right, Carl Phillip Emanuel Bach.
he did this short piece called solfeggietto, originally for keyboards, but which should be an amazing virtuoso performance, only trouble is it seems to reduce your speed by half. this is by far the most challenging piece i have ever tried, with its string skipping, sweeps, and general left hand fingering is a bitch.
http://c64forever.tripod.com/midi/solfeggietto.mid
there are a million questions i have, can anybody figure out a half-way decent fingering, or how much does it slow you down compared to your normal shred speed(if you shred that is).
can anybody here play it even at 140bpm? (original tempo)
has anybody ever recorded a guitar version of this?
i know there is a tab for this somewhere, i just cant remember where.

There is a DVD with a recording if this song on it:
http://www.guitar9.com/heavymetal.html
The problem is they use two guitars, as it says near the bottom, first paragraph. Maybe they mean guitar and bass. Now the thing is to try to get that recording without buying the DVD!
Oh, I just found out that there is a sound clip near the bottom on the right. It isn't played at the original 140bpm.

That looks like fun to play.
Maybe someone could search for a guitar version on Kazaa.

I have a .gp4 tab for that.
I didn't make this...The guy who made this must be some kind of genius. The tab plays at 120 BPM... Not 140, but it still sounds as fast as it should.

im just finding the fingering hard, theres a bit where like this:
Code:
|-------------------20-15----16-------------------------
|--16---------------------16----------------------13-16-
|-----17---------------------------------------13-------
|--------17---------------------------------15----------
|------------18-15-----------------------15-------------
|----------------------------------13-16----------------
|-------------------18-------15-------------------------
|--15------------------18-15-------------------------15-
|-----15---------------------------------------12-15----
|--------15---------------------------------13----------
|------------17-13-----------------------13-------------
|----------------------------------11-15----------------
and those little ditties on the top two strings inbetween sweeps are causing my left hand to tangle itself. plus the fact that im not use to bending my finger backwards for barring.
its just a bloody headache getting from 18 on the top to 11 on the bottom in that last phrase.

I'll have to try it some time. I'm somewhat of a beginner when it comes to classical guitar. It sounds like a great challenge though. I'm working on the start of Jason Becker's "Air" right now.

i bet you 100000000 japanese yen that you could do it. If you know where the notes are on the gutiar you just go..."Oh, thats an A...5th fret on E string...or open A..." Etc Etc...its just real tediouse. He didn't site read it or anything, he transcribed it into tabs.
