HELP question about tubes (i think)
okee i have an marshall 9001 preamp.
and resently i noticed that when i play when the tubes arent warm yet, the volume sometimes goes down and then back up after a while, bassicaly the volume goes up/down/up/down/up but when i played for like a hour or so, when the tubes are warm its just working fine. i dont think the guy i bought it from never changed the tubes so can i be that the old tubes give this anoying problem or is it sumtin else??? help

Well if you're sure it's the tubes and the volume drops, I'd think you better get new ones. They'll probably start to get worn out. Take your amp to a store and explain the problem.

Fuck sake dude! It takes an hour before it warms up right? I could go into a detailed electronic guide of what might cause this, but start with some new tubes first and see what happens.

the volumes going to go all fucked up anyways if the tube hasnt had time to warm up. It happens in all amps , it happened on my 8100 and so i had to wait bout 5/10 minutes for it to warm up and then it was fine.

shouldnt take more than 30 seconds, a minute at most, for your tubes to warm up...
