To me, they sound like As I Lay Dying which is my favorite metalcore band. The singer is no Tim Lambesis but I won't hold that against him, he's still pretty good at the death vocals and the clean.

Haha, i showed them to you and you said not bad. I started a thread about them a while ago but no one said anything. They have a strange blend of music. Its like death/grind/"metal core" Why the hell are they called metalcore. Is that the name given automaticly to metal bands that are of a younger age?

They are a good band, I have one of thier songs on my computer.

They didn't seem to blend very much to me, just death metal grindish....

I really like them. I can see why they're considered metalcore because they sound a lot like As I Lay Dying and Through The Eyes Of The Dead. Yeah but this thread has been done. You got to learn like I did, you 'search' and see if it has already been done.

hmm very opposite, they sound like between the buried and me, seems like all metalcore from north carolina is alot heavier and brutal then all around the world.

They're called metalcore because they have short hair.

I think i figured that one out. It is just hardcore/metal played by the emo looking sort.

To me the vocals sound much alike even though there can be only one Tim Lambesis. Glass Casket's music is heavier and more grind influenced but As I Lay Dying by far has the better drummer.

yea some of the guys look nerdy on glass casket, the bassist even wears polo shirts and gels his hair and slicks it back, but who really gives a fuck.

I don't mind what they look like. Hell, if you can play good brutal hardcore music and still get the chicks after the show then I say go for it.



Also, Through The Eyes Of The Dead is amazing but underrated. Plus, they have a awesome drummer.

if you want some real metalcore try out Arkangel, Reprisal and Fear My Thoughts. they just blast everything into oblivion

90% of all American metalcore is boring and cliché'd. Unearth was pretty original on their earlier releases but they're boring me now.

glass casket didn't impress me much either, I liked the older ZAO shit even though they're christian and all that. same goes for old pre-norma jean stuff. ofcourse we get the popular american metalcore over here, rest just doesn't get distribution over there.

I just miss brutality, which bands like Reprisal do deliver. (just check out any song from boundless human stupidity or mailorder knife set) I guess some people like their metalcore more metal orientated and some like it more hardcore orientated. I like it more hardcore orientated because thats what gives metalcore it's own flair.
If I'de just listen to it for the metal parts I'de be better off listening to regular metal.

ofcourse bands like Converge and DEP are legendary but most american metalcore bands are a bunch of the same stuff done over and over again.

I guess most european metalcore is pretty well kept too, like Course of Action, Fear My Thoughts, Maroon and Congress. I heard Heaven Shall Burn and Caliban are pretty big there though. (mostly because Caliban sold out and their last two albums sound really similair to what made metalcore big in the US.)

Heaven Shall Burn is still ok with me though, Antigone is a neat album

If you like glass casket you'd probably like Deadwater Drowning...but once again, i bought the cd and found it a bore ...i've pretty much given up on those ''brutal hardcore'' bands...since the only ones i like are Red Chord and BTBAM

not to bust your chops...but i despise into the moat...possibly more than any other hardcore band. Perhaps its because all of the scene kids here in Naples flock to them and induce a vacuum tight suck upon their asses put them on a pedistal high enough to render them false dieties! anyway...i just really think their music blows...i saw them live a few weeks ago...what an annoyance
