Restringing question.
Alright, I will try to make this simple:
A couple of weeks ago, I decided to go buy some new strings. So I bought two packs of new strings, and went to go restring my guitar. Now, the 6th string snapped when I was restringing it (this is out of one of the new packs), so I used my old 6th string, and restrung the rest of it with my new pack. Today, I was playing, and my string snapped. Now my question is, should I just restring the 6th string with the 6th string from my second new pack, or should I just restring the entire guitar? Thanks.

Use the one from the 2nd pack, why else would you of bought it?
Strings are destined to snap, and always when you least expect it. Always hand to have a new spare.

uuhh you can buy single strings where i am.
strings should be replaced every two or three weeks.
strings are cheap anyway, just go for a day without cigarettes.

Yeah indeed, just replace one, it sounds a bit new in the beginning, but after a few days playing, it just sound your old one...
What do you do if that string breaks again within a week, you buy everytime a new set of strings, that should be a waste of money.

do you smoke? shit i wish strings were that cheap over hear, thats like £3
the way i look at it is,
1 pck strings = 1 days cigarettes = 2 pints.
say i go out maybe 3 or four times in a fourtnight, if every time i go out, i have one less pint, i get 1 an 1/2 packs of strings every two weeks.
thats 1/2 a pack more than i need.
this philosophy does not work in the long term though
ie: 6 months cigarettes = new guitar. i choose lung cancer
but i can suffer for a day to get two weeks of guitar, if i have too.
and my income is not high, i just havent got around to saving yet.

First of all, I do not smoke, and 2nd of all, I'm a 15 year old kid who has parents who forget his allowance all the time, and the one time I applied at popeyes they rejected me.

good plan.
Seriously. You're better off just restringing it all. Though waiting for the strings to stop stretching always pisses me off

Waiting for the string to stretch? Why wait.. Stretch them yourself.

Always replace ALL of the strings if one string breaks. Never do it one at a time.

Dude, remember in America they dont have the exchange rate, so in reality they will pay just as much as us for strings...

yeh, that's my advice too, never re-string just one string, because if one keeps breaking and the other 5 stay fine like my mates guitar, after 6 years the E-B strings just literally crumbled in his hands one day. jesus christ it was a laugh though, watching him doing some jazz fingerpicking and then suddenly kaboom, only a high E left.

The strings on my guitar besides the 6th string were all almost new, so there would not of been much of a difference....got backup packs anyways one of them breaks anyways.

good, dont start, its probably the most stupid thing you can do.
i dont know anything about west virginia,
but its very easy for a 15yr old to get a job here.
you can get anywhere from £5 to £15 delivering papers.

The correct answer depends on your guitar and style.
If you have a Floyd Rose or similar with locking nut, then definitely just change the one string. I break strings all the friggin' time due to my aggressive picking and constant abuse of the vibrato bar. If I changed all six strings every time I broke one, I would spend half of my practice time restringing. If you consistently break the same string take a close look at the nut and bridge with a magnifying glass and look for a physical defect along the string path...
