CD or book on learning the bass

What is a good book for a beginning bass player. I played bass trombone many years ago, and played "with" basses when in school, but never learned much other then by ear. I need EZ, haha

basically any book that covers jazz/rock/blues essensials.

if you want some more metal oriented books to start out with you can get the metallica bass licks book, it covers most of Cliff Burton's work, from easy to advanced.

most good books come with a cd so you can learn at your own pace and check if you're doing it with accurancy too.

I got the book "RockBass" , it's a quiet good book to learn to play. Don't know if it is available in english, because it's a german book.
