Ebay + 500-600 = What Guitar?
Well here it is guys. Im selling all of my guitar shit (amps, guitars, pedals, etc.) and starting fresh. I should get around 1000+ for everything, close to 1200-1300 in the end. So I plan to get the Marshall 8100, just because its cheap and sounds great! So thats like 500 right there (include shipping and stuff), now that leaves like 500-600 for a guitar. I plan to ebay this baby just because ebay kicks ass for so many reasons. I def want a tremolo bar, 24 frets, and active pickups if possible. I was looking into King Vs and the ESP KH602. Im thinking that I would like something like the King V or RR guitars because I love the feel of them. Well yea so give me some suggestions on guitar.

I just acquired a C-1 Classic for 525$ ( The guy included a TKL hardshell case, that I did'nt even know I was getting ), and it's simply fantastic. Schecter gives you an immense value for the amount of money you're paying.
There are 8100 heads going for around 200$, and half stacks going for about 400$. I'd opt for the highest wattage available if you're going to get an AVT/Valvestate, with hybrid solid-states you need all the headroom you can muster.

the 8100 is a sweet head, i used to have one until it got lost , it has a nice distinctive sound, kind of cold but also warm (if that makes any sense lol) its hard to describe but it does sound hella nice. At the moment i m saving for another amp, i just got my insurance money from dhl who lost it. Damn Bastards

I saw a Jackson RR at guitarcenter a few weeks ago with 24 frets. It looked new.
Seemed to be a lower end model.

I know exactly what you mean - solid state chunk without the sterility. You can legato with all the definition, clarity and nuance, but still hear every note when you're picking a million miles an hour when playing rythm.

Well it's cheap, and you can find some really good deals on it too.
I saw a Chrvel 650 XL go on ebay for £363, it looked damn good too, a baby blue finish throughout. If only I had the money!

Yep the British one. I always miss out on the good deals due to lack of funds. Last month I saw an RG570 go for £200.

Sweet!!, thats a kickass deal. The guitar i've always wanted is a esp mirage or mii, but they only sell em on the american ebay although u can bid for some of them through our ebay (ebay.co.uk). I wonder whether it would be risky buying a guitar of ebay from america? anyone had any experience?

I haven't purchased from America, but from Europe its fine. As long as you can get it sent via COD, then you should be OK.
I don't think items from America can be sent COD anyway. I dunno, it's 50/50 that they hit you with tax and import duties.

For Guitars, nothing is better then a good B.C. Rich. Goddamn! I got an old 84 NJ series WArlock off www.chrisguitars.com for $200 cause ut was so fucking ugly, the previous owner had painted it green. Anyway, look for an old, quality (no bronze/platinum series) B.C. Rich. They sound great have points often. On www.chrisguitars.com I think there's a Rich Mockingbird with 81/85 for $550 or something right now. I don't know if they ship overseas but if so, try that. Also, playing through a bass amp sounds great with a nasty distortion pedal, I use a Digitech Metal Master.

True, at low volumes, but in my personal experience a Peavey digital 400 watt bass amplifier head run through a Avatar 4x and a Peavey 1 15 will fart/thin out when turned up loud enough to pace with an acoustic drummer. It just won't translate. That and your leads will screech. Unless you're doing something different ...

DRI, are you from the Albany, NY area? Just wondering, as I am. That guy sells some decent equipment IMO.

Well, yeah, I just play through a little RMS I think it is, bass amp that I got for $40. I do play at low volumes, for practice generally, but when I can get my band together for a practice it seems to do pretty well at full volume with the metal master. I did try it once through some huge Fender Bassman and it sounded GREAT to me, though I'm no tone freak.
And to the guy from Albany, no I'm in North Carolina but that's a good online store so I just order long distance.
