Dan Swano's Best Work?
I know a lot of people will probably say Blood Bath is Swano's best...but personally like his work most on:
Edge of Sanity (Purgatory afterglow, Crimson I, II)
Solo stuff (moon tower)
Nightingale (everything)
Diabolical Masquerade (the help he did on Nightwork and Death's Design)
And yes...Unicorn
I personally think Blood Bath should be WAY better just because Akerfeldt, Swano, and Nystrom were all in the band

Quick question - how would you imagine Bloodbath being WAY better? They set out to play old-school Stockholm death. And what they made is far better than most of the original stuff. What exactly do you think they're lacking?
(Edge of Sanity fucking rules God's wasted earth. Anyone who doesn't listen to it is a bad person and hates puppies.)

your last quote...hahahahaha
Anyway...I know that Blood Bath was never really a serious band (well the new cd is their transition from a side project to a real band) even though they set out to make old school death, i think they should have done something else. A Katatonia/October Tide/Opeth/Diabolical Masquerade/EOS fusion would have been awesome
Btw...what do you think about akerfeldt leaving the band and Tagtgren (spelling?) joining?

Bloodbath is terrible.
1) They are boring.
2) The guitar tone makes me want to spew vomit all over Resurrection.
I don't know about their new CD, though.

Crimson is the best Edge of sanity album, Crimson II isnt exactly Edge of Sanity, its for the most part just Dan. I mean its really good just not the same.

yea, its dan with a ton of guest appearances...i'd have liked crimson I a bit more if akerfeldt sang more...he just did a lot of like 5 second vocal parts when something bad happened in the story line of the song

I would probably have to agree with Far Beyond Sane and say that Edge Of Sanity is the best, followed by Bloodbath.
I haven't heard Bloodbath's new shit with peter, but their last two cd's are fucking awesome.
Diabolical Masquerade would come next for me.
Then the Nightingale, besides that I haven't heard much else of Swano's solo projects, mostly because my cd store fucking sucks.

I love all of Swano's work. Edge of Sanity and Nightingale are two of my favorite bands. Bloodbath is really nice too. Really, I just enjoy his entire body of work. Yes, even Unicorn and Godsend.
